been really upset today.. just split up with a guy i really liked as i found out he was still in love with his ex..! you may wonder about the exclamation marks after the 'ex' as this is not really that shocking or ludicrous.. but it is when they have been split up for 2 and a half years.! and she ran out on their wedding in Italy.! and the reason was because she had been sleeping with his best mate.! who she has since married and divorced.!!!
its like something out of a soap - i swear to god.! if it were on telly you'd fob it off as being too unbelievable...
anyways, i was only with him for about a month, but thought i was better off getting out now before i got really hurt.. and can you believe it - i had the typical guy response of "oh, so its all about you.! as long as YOU dont get hurt..! typical woman, thinking about herself!" I actually couldnt believe he was trying to turn this around on me and make me feel bad...
i'm angry with myself for being so upset by it all though as well. i let myself fall too fast and too deep - i should have learnt my lesson by now.. but you know when someone holds you and it just feels so right, like you wish they could hold you like that forever and the rest of the world would just melt away... sounds pathetic, but i havent felt anything close to that for anyone in a very long time......

I hate it when people use "the best form of defence is attack" method.
Sounds like you did right to get out now. It'll be hard but time always helps.
But I empathise, the ex I split with recently after 3 years was still in love with his ex for about the first year of us being together. It can be draining. In hindsight, I wish I'd dropped him like the dead weight he clearly was before investing years in him.
