WOW This weekend was complete insanity!! I had Friday off so my wife and I could go to St. Louis to see Danzig. The only problem was that I had to work Saturday. We left home around 2 and got to St. Louis around 5:30. our first stop was White Castle. I have been craving th real thing since we bought some frozen cheeseburgers at Sams Club. We bought a few of them and ate them on the way to see the metal god.
The 3 bands before him BLEW ASS!!! It was the longest 3 hours of my life. A band called Eyes Of Fire or Eyes On Fire opened up. They were ok, but the singer sounded like Lenny from Motorhead. Not my thing. Nest up was Trivium. Holy shit. Remove the lead singers voice, the guitar solos and tight pants that the singer and bass player were wearing and they weren't too bad. I called them the pretty boys of new age metal. Next was Cataclizm or some shit. The only thing I have to say about them is that canadians shouldn't try death metal, or so they called it.
Next up was the god Danzig. This was the first time we witnessed the one and only. I shed a tear when he came on stage. This dude freaking rocks!! We were front row center stage. Can't ask for anything better. The thing that really pissed me off was that the White Castle I had previously TORE MY STOMACH UP during his set. I had to get out of the crowd and run to the restroom right before he ended. I was so pissed. The damn White Castle tore both my wifes and I's stomachs up. We had to stop every 20 minutes to run to the restroom on the way home. We didn't make it home until about 5 in the morning. The great thing about this was that I had to get up and 6:30 and go to work and work 10 hours. I was pretty tired Saturday night. Didn't do shit. Oh well. I seen Danzig. I can die happily now.
