I.
a work in progress:
A friend of mine
has made up her mind
that the love of her life
has been and gone
and never before
has she suffered so much
in the natural passing
of time
I fail to persuade her
that the regret in tow
of any fine memory
is a malignancy born from
the strangest recesses of
the human character
- and it can be killed
if she would only surrender
to a strict faith in chance
The same chance
that gave her once
a bittersweet glimpse of
content
by the way, it's still there, and it still wants to be your friend: Rain Over Bouville... i have had some feedback after posting on forums and e-mailing a few significant people, and it is all positive - including the comments of SG members who've replied to my recent Group postings and journal entries. a special thanks to them for taking the time to be nice.
so...any ideas on how i can get good exposure without spam-raping the message boards of the world? i have no fucking clue. i registered with search engines n stuff, but what next?
II.
Girl talk:
it's Antony's birthday today. go forth and congratulate (though don't patronise; she may be gorgeous but she's no sweet little flower).
Lucky is selling some of her art, so go check it out. seriously, it's good stuff, especially if you are a nose person. as far as i know, she's selling art to raise money for a fully-automated robotic exoskeleton. she is just getting lazy now.
oh yeah, i deleted some Friends, because they, er, weren't my friends. i was most attentive, and they never said two words to me in return. oh the horror!
III.
i finished Kurt Vonnegut's Breakfast Of Champions over the weekend. it was awesome, but now i am Kurtless. *sigh* oh well, next month i'll buy one or two or maybe even ten more of his books. i can't remember the last time i was this excited about an author; i just wanna devour every single word he wrote. words such as:
"I do not propose to discuss my lovelife. I will say, however, that I still can't get over how women are shaped, and that I will go to my grave wanting to pet their butts and boobs. I will say too that lovemaking, if sincere, is one of the best ideas Satan put in the apple she gave to the serpent to give to Eve. The best idea in that apple, though, is making jazz."
...can you say suave?
in other entertainment news, i've been listening to Dirty Three's Ocean Songs and Arcade Fire's Funeral, both of which are enhancing my quality of life a hundred-fold. hell yeah.
