good news: my mother has had interest regarding her new novel. the Blake Freedman agency have responded expressing interest in the book and they want to see the rest of the manuscript (she sent them only the first chapter). if they offered my mum representation and she accepted they would then shop the book around to publishers; Blake Freedman are a big name (or so i'm told) and would probably approach houses like Faber & Faber and maybe even Penguin. awesome! i really want this book to be published because i genuinely think it is a good story and that it should be read; i have a feeling the world would take it to their hearts and it could become, if not huge, beloved. furthermore i want my proofreading/editing work rewarded. ha... fingers crossed - nay, knotted.

meanwhile in the world of Humphrey Astley, Author, my ISBN application is with the ISBN Agency as we speak. if it's all kosher, i should be ready to publish on the 16th. again, fingers knotted.
