yup. I am awfully good at being cryptic. explanation is up
now.

that's a very cool pic by the by.

good luck with your new drinking laws. I'm sure there will be all sorts of exposes on the debauch and irresponsible. we've just been through Schoolies over here, which some would call a right of passage. others would call it further proof of the collapse of the human race.

I fall somewhere in the middle.

i know, i know. people tell me to avoid the ipod but every time i see the new 60g, my willpower weakens a little bit more.

i was kind of conned into the whole mac and cheese thing. i was enjoying not taking part in things that everyone else had grown up with. most people still don't believe me on that one, anyway.

Ah! I like your new occupation. It suits you.

I'm sure there will be lots of broken-hearted goats, but it'll be best for all in the long run!

I sent you an e-mail via the "contact" page on your profile. If there's any problem with the message, let me know, and I'll send it again.

i've been gone for a while. all my time online is while at work, and unfortunately the powers that be put up a new firewall that blocks "gross acts" etc, so no more SG for me when i'm at my desk. however, i do have this dodgy old iMac at my place now, and that's how i'm writing this update. it's slow and incompatible with...

Ah...what you see most days on the journal is improv. into the update page, with minor tweaking here and there. I print them out and file them away for later use. What I've written so far since I've joined, has become my new chapbook.

If it's not an improv., whatever book of mine it's from is noted.

The "Gospels of Eve" poem, however, was four seperate fragments on four seperate post-it notes sitting on my desk. I looked at them, saw that they went together nicely, cooked up the title, and there you have it!

What's "making me happy"?

Happiness is a choice for me. It doesn't depend on an outside source. Same with sadness. I have power over what I think and feel...we all do. After all, it's your brain, not anyone elses! Believe me, it hasn't always been like this.

Best thing I could have realized, and did: 99.9% of all of my emotional angst is caused by someone else not acting or responding in ways I think they should.

What they think and do is none of my business.

And it works the other way around, as well.

I write because I love it.

Peace to ya, my friend.

BEHOLD! a light-hearted journal entry! with obnoxious formatting!

vaguely inspired by my new friend Lackwit's current journal entry, i am going to list my ten favouritest albums of everest.

so, and in no particular order, here they are:

1 Leonard Cohen - Songs Of Love & Hate (1973)
2 Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Your Funeral...My Trial ('86)
3 The Birthday Party...

oh that ain't angst! that's softcore. generally though, when I try hardcore angst, it flows too far into woe-is-me emo whining. It's a fine line that I walk like a tightrope.

That's a pretty good list btw. Nice to see someone else ranks King for a Day highly. Such an under-rated album.

You're not the only one with the appetite. God it's annoying.

I'm going to call you Saint Huck, by the way. God I love that song - "Ya wake up one mornin' and you find you're a thug" God I love it! God, God, God. biggrin

Sometimes

a wind blows

and you and I

float

in love

and kiss forever

in a darkness

and the mysteries of love

come clear

and dance

in light

in you

in me

and show

that we

are love

David Lynch

curiously, i adore that song because i cannot relate to it, and imagine i never will

Hey new friend!

Yeah, I admit the poetry is more than a bit abstract, but it's wholly intentional. I feel like I'm working to open up new pathways of emotion and thought...touching on the harmonics of mind and soul that branch out into corners and realms of existence so far unknown to us as we are now. New ways of thinking, feeling and being... completely natural, yet still somehow completely foreign.

A friend said to me "I have no idea what you mean by this, but I feel something nonetheless.

Exactly!

I appreciate the friendship. Stop by any time.

Yes, I think I've confused many people with the name change. I found though the frankness of previous name was becoming a little too much like self fulfilling prophecy.

I look forward to reading your assignment. I'm working on one or two ideas right now ... which means I think about it far more than I am actually writing it.
