I meant to do this for 2009, especially since several of my absolute favorite favorite sets (including my second favorite) of that year never made it out of Member Review. Though I doubt many people read my SG blog, I wanted to draw attention to some great stuff. Alas, laziness got the better of me.
(Incidentally, that set is no longer available and the model went to the archive this last year. Just one of the many things that made 2010 a shit year.)
Anyway, here are my favorite SG sets of 2010. You may note that some of these are Member Review sets. If you want to take that as an indictment of Suicide Girls' selections process, well, you're abso-fraggin'-lutely 100% right. I found the front page a very imperfect representation of the best of SG this year.
One artificial limitation: I allowed individual models only one set. Otherwise this sucker would truly get out of control.
Archie's Touring the Facility. Archie is the first victim of the "one set per model" limitation. Archie had two amazing sets go live and two amazing sets go into MR in 2010, but Touring the Facility rules over the rest with its combo of Archie's unbelievable beauty with some enticingly naughty public nudity. Fantastic stuff.
Setsuka's Samadhi is the "Holy Shit" set of the year. This set is so mind-blowingly amazing, SG should be offering it for free as a loss-leader to drum up more memberships. No one in his or her right mind wouldn't buy a membership after viewing this set.
Eyes of the Year goes to Luana's Baby Blues. Mind you, everything else about Luana is gorgeous enough to make anyone go cross-eyed with longing, but those eyes should be making every painter on the planet clamor to use her as a model.
Opale's La famille. OK, first I have to get this out of the way: Opale has the best ass on the site, bar none. Seriously. I think I would pay a month's salary for the opportunity to walk down the street a few paces behind Opale as long as she were wearing a clingy skirt or leggings. Or naked. Naked would work, too. If she actually spoke to me, I imagine I'd pass out on the spot. Anyway, Opale is another girl with several great 2010 sets on the front page and a fantastic on in MR as well. This one wins for being most evocative and for the playfulness with the lace.
Wit's Chains that Bind is the set that most makes me forget that I am a sapient, semi-sophisticated semi-intellectual and turns me into a drooling animal that just wants to fuck. Jesus God, I get filled with lust just thinking about thinking about this set.
It's a crime that Dentelle is not pink. It's a crime that Dentelle's Humbert Humbert didn't get any more attention than it did. (And if you didn't like the photography, I'm sorry, but your expectations are limited.)
Porphyria had two amazing sets in MR this year. SPF 5000 is my favorite because something about the color palate just appeals to me, but both sets feature an astonishingly sexy girl being, well, astonishingly sexy. Neither set went live. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, though. Porphyria's 2008 set Filthy Bohemia is easily in my top ten SG sets of all time, and it is still in fucking member review!
We lost Cori to the archive this year. My God, I will never again have the pleasure of picking my jaw up off the floor as I stare at new images of Cori for the first time! How did this happen? How could this happen? At least she gave us three new sets this year, of which Me is my favorite. Those eyes. Those freckles. Sigh....
Lovely, lovely Levee just keeps getting more and more beautiful. Ring Ring is a beautifully shot set of a stunning woman, the kind of woman who is so gorgeous it makes you happier just to know she exists somewhere on this planet.
OK, I know BetteJean went pink this year, and Hell Yeah to that! And though I think the set that took her pink might be a bit more flattering to her, I prefer QK487. This amazing beauty getting naked in the stacks of a library is one of the hottest things I can imagine, much less one of the hottest I've ever seen. Should not be stuck in MR. Shouldn't even ever have been in MR. Should have gone right to the front.
Similarly, I feel Cinke went pink with the wrong set. Sun After the Rain is gorgeous, but Red Cocktail showcases her with a much more interesting look and really wonderful use of expression. OK, yes, the compositions aren't too creative, but the overall look of the set is quite creative and has the kind of unique sexiness that I find so important to the SG experience.
Sysca is another absolute favorite. As far as I can tell, her biggest flaw is that she seems like the type it would be far too easy to fall head-over-heels for. Though it doesn't feature her adorable glasses, New Message from certainly makes you wish you were on the receiving end of her chats.
What a fantastic location! What a fantastic girl! In Smitten, Steller looks like she's staring right at me, and I can't imagine anything better than having a girl who looks like that staring at me like that. Especially considering the whole nakedness thing.
Aerion's Cameo Jack is another example of a girl who had done some gorgeous work crossing the threshold into absofuckinglutely amazing. I believe the correct response to this set is, "Pink now!"
Ah, Fatal's gorgeous, sexy, exciting Prerogative. Wait, this one is still in Member Review, too? Wait, this one only has 523 comments? I'm sorry, have I entered Bizarro world? Look at this wonderful set of this super-sexy girl, people!
Kewpie is an example of where it went right. Four sets from this stunner entered MR in 2010 (five counting a multi), but the clear winner of the group was Satellite Mind, the set that took her pink. Wonderful photography, location, expression. Great stuff.
Three sets from Shaddix this year, but my fave is the lovely sepia-toned Midtown. Shaddix is an amazing woman at all times, but the warm and gentle tones of this set brought something new and special from her. This set also did not make it out of Member Review, and if you think you're sensing a pattern, I agree with you. The pattern is with SG's selection process, though, not with me, and it may be related to why yet another favorite Suicide Girl of mine departed this year. And with that....
I don't think I can put this off any longer. If the departure of Cori and Shaddix made me sad, the departure of Keely is downright tragic for the site. Hold My Keys is yet another example of Keely's ability to look simultaneously innocent and naughty and brainy and arty and thoughtful and deeply, deeply seductive. I don't know Keely's mind, but have a guess as to why she archived herself. Keely's Back Room set was my second favorite set of 2009 (and I only say it's #2 because Opaque put out a set that should be hanging in the fucking Louvre), yet it never made it out of Member Review. Let me make one thing clear: If your brain functions at all, you loved this set. Yet somehow it couldn't get the attention it deserved. The same is true for Hold My Keys, which has 714 comments in three months. I despair for Suicide Girls. I despair for the human race.
OK, lets get happy again, shall we? 2010 will be remembered by me as the year that France kept SG awesome. The aforementioned Opale and Sysca are part of this. Leopoldine is another. I was tempted to choose her Fuck the Weather set, but good as that set is, it doesn't match Bilitis. This set isn't one of those that's pure sex. This one is love and beauty, a celebration of a natural beauty in a natural setting. And wow! Does this girl ever deserve celebrating! I hope we see a lot more of Leopoldine in the coming year.
Let's keep the France theme going, shall we? Lylie's first set, Exposed, is a exploration of a woman who is so beautiful it's almost a little scary. Eyes, face, breasts, waist, bottom, legs, everything about this girl just screams, "Only men much more attractive than you get to see me naked." Frankly, I'm a little intimidated, but by God, I'm sure not looking away!
Ah, Lison. Was it possible to top your first set? I wouldn't have thought no, but you did. Oh, how you did with Oxyd. This set showcased a woman who straddles the line from an abstract, nearly-untouchable beauty like Lylie has with the kind of sexiness that induces cross-eyed, animal lust in me. I sincerely wish I knew this girl, but she'd have to wear a burka or maybe a space suit all the time to keep me from going crazy from being around her.
Continuing the France theme, here's the only multi on my list: Hannalisa and Revenge in Nouvelle Cuisine. Now, normally, I'm not a huge Multi-girl set fan, but this set is something special. What's special about it? Well, I can't tell you, because looking at the set makes lose all blood to the brain and with it the ability to express myself in words.
Let's round out France with a Swede who happens to shoot with the French group a lot, Nemesis and her set Une ame solitaire. In place of a review, I'm going to ask a question. How the hell is it possible for such a thin girl to have such an amazing ass? How does that even work?
I just keep coming back to Nukee's Maybe Sparrow. What is is about this set? Is it the lovely girl with the knowing look? Is it the warm, almost inviting photography? Is it something more elusive than that? Whatever it is, I hope this girl goes pink soon, and I'd love for this to be the set that gets her there.
Ilsa's Melting Season is a set that speaks for itself. This set is so lovely, so sexy, so amazing, that it would be obvious why SG picked it--iIf only they had.
Yay, Rosalilly went pink, and with the simply beautiful In the Warmth. This is another of those sets that has a certain innocent, almost naive feel to it with a definite lustiness. It certainly works. I'd love to see some of SG's more innovative photographers work with this girl. Whatever she does in the future, I expect to be amazed.
OK, that's it. My twenty-six favorite SG sets of 2010. Sorry for the length of the piece. I guess this was a better year that I'd thought. Sorry, also, if it got a touch ranty at times. I've lost some of my love for SG in the last year, with some of my favorite girls getting archived and some of my favorite sets languishing in Member Review while many sets that leave me cold make it to the front page. Still, I love the SG community, and no other site on the web gives so much for such a low price. Let's look forward to an amazing, creative, sexy New Year in SG land.

Coincidence?
Yeah, probably.
