I'm going to the Ren Faire today. I'm very excited. I love the Faire, though the PA faire has declined in the past few years. I'm taking DodRaibeid who has never been before so I really hope he enjoys it.
Work has improved immensely. A big part of that has been me relaxing. I hadn't realized that because I was so tense the kids were acting out more. Then I would get even tenser. I finally chilled out and so have they. They are also back in school which makes my job a thousand times easier. During the school year we only take them out on the weekends. We have money for that. During the summer, we have to find activities for them everyday, and most weekdays, we don't get money for them. The kids get annoyed and think the shelter is horribly boring. They complain all the time and if there are kids that have been there before, during the school year, they will talk incessantly about how much the shelter has declined. Pointing out to them the nature of the situation does no good. So anyway...things are better now.
I need to start getting ready so we can get a move on. Yay, Ren Faire!
