Art Deco week next week and already all the cars and train and people are starting to come out.
Just to give you an idea of what goes on during this nostalgic time period, that i'm sure some of the SG's would love to be here!
Napier is a very historic town, most of the buildings were built in the 1930's to 50's, napier had to be rebuilt after the 1931 earthquake that leveled the town, and every year around the second week of feb, everybody gets into the groove of that time period, from the cars to planes to the train right down to the clothes, EVERYBODY dresses in that period style.
it's really cool, it's like you've gone back in time! we get visitors from all over the world coming for the week!
It's really just a cool excuse to get dressed up and drink all day long
I'll keep you all updated and show some of the goings on and people
The steam train arrived this week, which does a picnic trip, but we missed out on the tickets
argh well next year i'll be a bit more onto it.
