looking for a job.

"If he is making food like this, then he needs to be fired more often." That is what my brother's girlfriend told him. I had my first run at ravioli last night. It was really tasty.. The filling was saute`d portobello mushroom and collard greens, ricotta cheese, and white miso. The pasta was too thick but had a good flavor and I had a little too much miso. It tasted good in the bowl but was a little salty after the flavors melded.I need to experiment with the pasta too. I really understand the need for a pasta roller. I used a rolling pin and was afraid that I would tear the dough the thinner it got. The real goal is to make my own soba noodles. The ones out of the package are good but fresh is always better.
The restaurant idea is still up in the air. I would need an angel for this one. I have $3500 coming to me from unused vacation. I know that's alot but I'd never gotten the hang of vacationing. Actually if I get too much time on my hands I tend to get depressed. I'm working on that. Back to point, There is a little place in Candler Park called Gato Bizco that does really good breakfast. The owner there had been thinking of having somebody open in the evenings. Kind of as a coop. I'd heard of it happening in other places but not often. The place is small with 10 counter and 4 booths but it could be good. The max that could be reasonably taken home is $65k per year but that is filling the place turning each table 6 times a night. But a more reasonable salary would be about $38k to $40k per year, which isn't bad. More than I'm making now. The other thing is food storage. There is very little.

Hmmmm.

I better get back to finding me a job, or at least looking for a job so the department of labor will continue to give me checks. It's not much but it keeps me afloat.
