Bored? Try this...

Today's been pretty good - I can't complain. Earlier, I went to see Pan's Labyrinth and it was fucking great. It has a little of everything (except car chases) so I'm urging all my friends to go see it - even those of you who dislike having to read subtitles. Or go learn Spanish, since several of the best films now playing are directed by men from Mexico (Babel, Children of Men) or Spain (Volver).
Afterwards I stopped off for a drink and some food, and discovered that one of my favorite waitresses has returned to work following a few weeks off recovering from minor surgery. So that made me happy too.
Then, to continue my "day of film" I watched an older Almodovar film - High Heels on videotape (sadly it's one that isn't available on dvd yet). And now here I am with a scotch in one hand, updating and listening to Nueva Music by the Latin Project and wishing I had paid more attention in Spanish class so many years ago.
