howdy

Well I hope y'all had yourselves a happy Thanksgiving, with friends or family or in some totally unique way. Mine was quite enjoyable, except for the return flight. The 7am flight (did I ever mention that I'm not a morning person?) was cancelled for mechanical reasons. The next one I could get a seat on (not standby) was at 10pm. Fifteen hours roaming an airport is perhaps not quite a living hell, but it felt close enough. At least I was tired enough to sleep a few hours on the way back, but my snoring probably kept the rest of the plane awake.

Highlights of the trip
a) seeing old friends and their ever-growing families
b) playing with kids of ages 7 months to 7 years
c) drinking, cooking, drinking, eating, drinking (repeat)
d) helping with the wine-making (and tasting)
e) avoiding stores on "Black Friday"
f) making a substantial dent in my xmas shopping on saturday
g) got the name, email and phone number of a sweet, cute and far-too-young shop girl (may have to try getting her into SG)

Making a new friend is always fun, but since we live on opposite coasts it's hard to hope for much more than friendship. But I'll try...
