Heylo again,

Well, I had a pretty damn good weekend...

All because of my new car, and the fact that I could actually go somewhere FAR with it, and trust it.

I also was fortunate enough to spend this weekend with my girlfriend on travel.

I decided, since again, I have a car I can now trust-that we could go down to Iowa, near the Mississippi, where my grandmother lives. She lives not far from a town called McGregor, Iowa-which boasts a huge antigue community, and small town charm. It also holds residence to a gambling boat, which generally doesn't interest me much-sicne I tend not to gamble.

So we drove down there on Saturday. The initial plan, was to drive 40 miles south of McGregor, to a town called Dyersville. That's the town where 'Field of Dreams' was filmed, and I get a big kick out of visiting that place. The field s geneally open May through October-but the weather was such shit on Saturday, we decided to just stay in McGregor, and just shop and walk around.

It was a truly nice time-though rain and freezing winds kept us in most of the time. Sunday was more pleasant, and since we stayed over night, we went back to shop some more on Sunday, and I took a few snapshots, nothing fancy.

Here's my girlyfriend in front of one of the first Ringling Brothers Circus' carts (apparently, this town was host of the second Ringling Brothers Circus, ever!)

And this was cool, there's a few of these in McGregor-buildings built into the side of the rock and bluffs(this one was a photography studio)

Again, nothing to exciting-I wish I had taken more pics, but alas, I didn't.

I like these Mississippi towns, for some odd reason. Either the history or long stem stories that have occured in these towns facinates me, the fact that they were once considered 'boom towns', but have failed to cath up to society and technology.

I'm weird that way I guess. I have a huge appreciation of many o' things though I suppose.

I don't know anyone else that would visit Iowa for fun really-but we both seemed to enjoy ourselves.

And yes, I did visit with my grandmother. That was nice of course. Though we only hung out for a few hours. I got to play with her animals, and just talk-it was nice.

The weekend went by to fast though, far to fast...
