Damn it. I haven't seen a really good giant monster movie (kaiju movie for the uninitiated) in a long time. Yeah, I know Godzilla's coming out soon, they're making a sequel to Monsters and Pacific Rim is on the horizon for 2013. I've got major reservations about all of them. First: Another Godzilla movie? Who. Gives. A. Fuck. Second: Monsters wasn't that good and the "monsters" weren't all that well executed. (IMHO). Third: Pacific Rim is poised to lay a gigantic egg. The odds are that they're not going to do it right. Yeah, I know it's just anime with real actors but CGI monsters and giant robots are just not that engaging. Fuck. I'm just gonna go watch Terror of Mechagodzilla...
