my dad cancelled holloween for me once when i was 13, because i said i was gonna be somewhere and i wasn't. now that i think about it, it really was a good thing, all my friends just went around and got all drunk and acted a fool. but maybe you could just watch some not so spooky scary movies, like labrinyth or something.
