i have an acoustic guitar at the house, so when the kid comes over he rarely brings his amp and electric gittar w/ him.
so, it's been about 3 months, since i've heard his plugged in shit. ..
but he brought his stuff this weekend . .
and i listened to him for a bit. .
he's getting really good.
he's always known his bluesy white stripes stuff. .
but , i kept telling him. .
'you know all those little metalhead kids that just strum super fast and throw licks all over the place are gonna think they rip on you'
so he shows up this weekend and fuckin' blows out this metal strumming crazy guitar solo shit.
and then says to me. .
'i guess they can't say that anymore'
but then he says. .
'i'm not really into solos anymore, i just like making weird noises' .
and i smile and say.
'welcome to the neil young school of guitar'
my kid's the shit. .
he's never done one fuckin bad thing. .
well .. not too bad. .
im stoked!
(i'm still waiting for him to get into the clash though)
