hi folks!
i appreciate all the support with my situation with my son recently. . but here's another kicker. . his school called me up today and said that they want to send him to washington d.c. as a "future statesman" represenative.
(we live in california) surreal
(of course we have to pay for the trip)
one of the reasons i'm so bummed about his grades...

i haven't even told the whole story. .
my son's mom is the majority custody parent (because i'm a fuckin' idiot and thought that was probably the best...

Okay. All is not lost. (Like I am some great example...but still, I'm better than a TOTAL loser, so listen up.)

My last GPA in high school was .333. That was only because my art teacher took pity on me and gave me a C. (Yup. Failed every single other thing.)

I was in the middle of my junior year. After protracted teacher (well, principal) /parent conferences and last ditch efforts to salvage my wasted school career (ergo, life), I got my GED and went to college. I got honors and stuff and since then I've had shitty jobs and great jobs.

Most importantly (hey, my mom's a social worker, whaddaya want?), I'm happy.

And my family is more important to me than anything. I thank God for them every day, and I don't even believe in God.

blah blah blah blah

what I really meant to say was, you're doing fine, and your son will be fine. never let him forget that you're paying close attention, and that your love for him is unconditional.

Eventually you will both be surprised to look back and remember how things are now;

so much anger, so much pain
my dad cancelled holloween for me once when i was 13, because i said i was gonna be somewhere and i wasn't. now that i think about it, it really was a good thing, all my friends just went around and got all drunk and acted a fool. but maybe you could just watch some not so spooky scary movies, like labrinyth or something.

went and bought 2 dvd's to watch w/ my son today. killer klowns from outer space and the matrix reloaded.
(he's 12 by the way,and he's already seen reloaded,but i haven't)
made scampi and rice pilaf for dinner.
showed him how to play a couple of nirvana songs on the guitar. (although he suprised me, by knowing a few of the songs already) tried to...

Killer Klowns is one of my all-time favorites!!
phoolsfire:
its all good in the establishment.... i love attack of the killer klowns from outerspace, but i don't think ill ever be able to eat cotton candy again. its right up there with the killer tomatoes, and night of the living dead. you know, those movies you watch and laugh at while your with your friends, but when you watch them all alone at work late at night. then they kinda really creep you out. or maybe thats just me.

That doesn't let me send you pictures or I would have done it already, silly. That's okay. You can choose to remain anonymous if you wish. But I have to say, that whole restraining order thing was just a misunderstanding. I wouldn't stalk you. wink

Favorite quote from my mom:

"You spend money like a madwoman!"

I guess you'd have to know my mom.
twasbrillig:
Usually my big toe. Sometimes my middle toe. Sometimes my first three toes.

My mom's quotes that are on constant rotation:
"Jesus christ!"
"Shit!"
"Jesus, Mary and Joseph!"
"You're the laziest man in creation" (to my dad)
"Did you take your pills?"
"Did you get your period?"
"You really need to clean your room"
"You really need a new jacket"
"You really need to go to the doctor"
"Don't buy any weird clothes" (when I go shopping with my friends, she actually tells them not to let me buy any "weird" clothes. none of us can figure out what this means.)

HORNITOS COMES CLEAN. .

i haven't had a (real ) girlfriend since early 2000. (i know this, because we had naked millenium!) and then soon after she got preggers and had an abortion, and ya' know things never really go well after those type-a things. . but anyways, there's a few reasons for this situation. (not counting being incarcerated for a little...

HORNITOS= a brand of reposado (rested) tequila, meaning it has been aged for over a month in oak barrells which gives it, it's natural coloring, unlike cuervo gold, which is aged in a bottle and gets it's color from carmel (caramel?) food coloring. . just in case anybody was wonderin'. .
there's also anejo tequila which has been aged for a year , sometimes in...

how Speed Racer saved my life. . .

when i was a little hornitos, i used to pretend i was Speed Racer. my mom had a volkswagen bug (it was really cool, yellow with black racing stripes and running boards) and it had a little 'handle bar' above the glove box that i used to hang on to all the time while we were driving,...

good news, bad news. .

the good news is: i got to spend the weekend with my son
the bad news is : he's been sick the entire weekend

the good news is: i got the chance to share with him , my many thoughts of love, life, and generally the state of man-kind
the bad news is: i've probably scarred him for life

See that really wasn't so hard, was it?

Emotional and illogical can be hard to deal with sometimes, but also irresistable to someone like me who tends to be way too rational most of the time.

I didn't realize you were so close! I love Santa Barbara. I grew up in a farming community in Northern Cal. Much farther north, though

Is the thing on your lip cancer? I'm almost always convinced when I have a new mole or a freckle that it's cancer.

Descendents doesn't start with "the", Silly! How would I have heard it? Actually, truthfully, I haven't. How does it go?

Hope you're having a good week as well.

kiss

my son got his new guitar the other day. i haven't picked up a guitar in years, and don't know how to play one, but i guess i can show him about 20 different RAMONES songs so i don't have to listen to 'wild thing' all weekend. (which i guess he's already learned how to play)
if he thinks he's gonna get away from practicing...

i'm going to see kill bill tonight, ill let you know how it rates on the kid friendly factor. i too feel as if i've been consumed with yuckkiness. this i've come to accept as my natural state. so i must learn to embrace it. but you my good friend, seem to be uplifting and as far as bigger being better, i'm into belly button sex so i like the small round guys, shocked
phoolsfire:
whoa! do not take your child to see this move!!!! i would say that all but the continuous blood squirting, its no more or less violent than the matrix, but that would be a bold faced lie. it has some pedophile/rape scenes, it has pregnant women getting beatin' to a pulp. it has heads, arms, legs, feet, all getting chopped off. one of my friend said, if they gave out nc-17 just for violence, then thisshould have gotted it, ( i disagree) if your've ever seen Akeria, the violence ranges on that same plane. but it was a good movie.
hope you had a good weekend.
