oh god. my mom pressed "pause" on her tivo and now i'm hearing a 72 year old japanese woman say "we need to be abiding in jesus" over and over and over again. kill me now.
yesterday i was coerced into going to church to pay pennance to my mother for getting a pagan god tattooed onto my flesh. i read Bobo's In Paradise the whole time. the whole experience was painful. the only good thing about it was that the pastor spoke spanish for part of the time so i got to try to figure out what he was saying.
do any of the rest of you have issues with your parents' religions? i think that my issues are exacerbated by the fact that 1) there are televangelists on tv at my parents' house 24/7 and 2) i was also a fundamentalist christian for about 19 years...
and the me now hates the me that I used to be....and I know that the me then would hate the me now...
