i had to work on halloween, because the boss strongly felt that since we were having a sale we needed three people to be there for at least part of the day. i disagreed with him, and tried to explain my point, but he's the boss. and of course, it was completely bogus that i was there. i've been really frustrated with him lately. why am i even the manager when it doesn't matter what i think anyway. he wants to get another counter person. i disagree. matter of fact, everyone else at the shop disagrees with him. but we're still getting one. stay open all day for halloween with extra people. he lost money to pay me. but handing candy to the trick or treaters was fun. and don't even get me started on our jewelry disagreements. he's a good guy, and i know he's the boss, but it's frustrating. he only comes in at closing time, so of course he sees everyone/thing at it's worst. he's not there 40 hours a week to see what really goes on, and what people really want or don't want and why. i'm trying to do what's best for the staff and clients, and i know he thinks he's doing the same, but he's not most of the time. and there's nothing i can do about it once he's decided. arrgh
on a happy note, i was a cute ass ladybug for halloween. met up with most of my peeps at the bar after work and had drinks. it was a good time. it was just a shame thom and i had to leave kinda early. i wanted to party until closing. we both needed to be at work at 8am though (and, for me, a hangover around preschoolers is not good), and we still needed time for him to take advantage of me
and boy did he!
