Stuck in Virginia on a "Free" "Vacation" courtesy of the United States Military.
I have been called in as a witness in a military trial for work. They are calling it a "free vacation" yet I don't think I can reimbursed for my bottle of wine and I am here alone so I'm not really sure what kind of vacation it is. I have nothing back home to escape from. I'm planning to make the most of it and take the metro into DC tomorrow and just spend the day wandering around. Not really sure where I will end up. The Smithsonian sounds good. Checking out the monuments maybe. Hoping to find some good international cuisine. I could really go for some Thai food. We'll see what the week brings.

It's a pretty good birthday, winter solstice. Always make sure her birthday presents are wrapped in birthday paper, NEVER Christmas paper.
