So I was in Hermosa Beach on Sunday, just doing a little shopping and soaking up the sun. The weather was PERFECT by the way - just before we hit this record breaking triple digit heat, but still very warm with light winds...just the way I like it.

ANYWAY, I'm driving down this hill and come to a stop sign. Some dude on a skateboard is crossing the street and his PCP must have JUST kicked in or something, because all the sudden he decides that he's invincible. He suddenly darted out the crosswalk and started doing circles and "tricks" in the middle of the intersection! I'm not the only car there, mind you, so he's already pissing off a lot of people off.

He finally decides to move along, but instead of getting back on the sidewalk, he decides to go down the street, headed the same way I wanted to go, of course. No big deal, two lanes, so I slowly creep up and try to go around. Supergenious on the skateboard had other plans...he INTENTIONALLY swerves into my lane in front of me at the last second, just as I approach.

I couldn't believe it!!! The dude is on a skatebaord and he wants to play chicken against me and my car! I am totally game for this sort of thing too and would have loved to have made a red smear out of him, but for some reason the little angel on my shoulder won this round so I instead pulled back and changed into the other lane...only to have him blatently swerve into harms' way AGAIN!

Then he starts just going back and forth from lane to lane all the way down the hill, just to make it clear that the street belongs to him and no one else. I couldn't fucking believe this guy!!!

So I did what any rational, sane person would have done in this situation. I closed me eyes, held down the horn, popped the clutch into second gear and floored it.

SO....gotta go get my car washed and a couple of dents pulled. Anyone interested in a slightly damaged skateboard?
