HOMEWARD BOUND...
Well...news from home is sketchy...
Rockadiva has been in touch and is fine. She says they didn't even lose power at her place.
My friend Aaron is still without power...he's hanging with his friend Jason, who DOES have power...
***
I've been in touch with my school and they won't be open until Wednesday...
Still, my curiousity about home is killing me.
Now that the danger has passed...
***
The sun has set on this beautiful haven that is Austin and I'm preparing to pack my things back into my minivan and make the journey...even though I wasn't able to repack my cv joints...I'm going to risk it.
My eternal gratitude to BlueValentine who so graciously took my little evacuee ass in and put up with my shit for so many days
By the way, your sangria rocks!
***
So, on the off chance that I don't have power at home, I won't be on the grid...
'Til then!!!
***UPDATE***
Traffic on the way home was fantastic!
Compared to what it was on the way up to Austin, homeward it felt like a 5 minute drive...
Unfortuately Houstonians have returned to their rude, cutting people off, brights on, no blinker selves...but what can you do?
The best news is that I have power at my house!
My a/c is pumping and I'm surfing the interweb while drinking some whiskey...life is sweeeeeeeeet...
I sincerely enjoyed my 'vacation.'
Even if it hadn't been for the fluffernutter sandwhiches, pbr, and lifetime tv movie drinking games...just the change of scenery was enough to rejuvenate my spirits...
Thanks again to my love BlueValentine
