There is no better way than to get to know a new vehicle than to take it on a long, unexpected road trip...
While my blessed minivan (name pending) got me here in one piece...I've discovered some problems I didn't know about.
One of them was simply that she was low on trasmission fluid...easy enough to fix...
The other is that her CV joint clasps had broke and while one seemed to have some grease still in there, the other is quite dry...
After about a hundred trips to Autozone, which is conveniently located down the street...I haven't been able to repack them...
I've asked (future gearhead) BlueValentine to be my lovely assistant tomorrow and she's graciously agreed. Hopefully the joints themselves haven't been too damaged and that will be the end of that...
And yes, I DID get accosted by the local crackheads while working on my car...seems that phenomenon is not reserved for Houston...
Right now? I'm just hoping this homemade guacamole and sangria will take my mind off my vehicle issues...
If not? There's still a case of pabst...
