Ah, the quiet life of a redneck...

I sleep late into the morning...

Have my coffee and cigarette under a tree in the yard...contemplating life and watching the hummingbirds with a gimpy dog at my feet...

Eventually I get into my coveralls and head out to work...sanding and banging away on this car parked under a shade tree...country music in the background...

When it gets too hot...I come in for lunch...

If I want a piece of fruit we pick peaches off the tree in the yard...

If I want tomatoes for my salad, I take them from the garden...

By 5pm it's cooled off...so I grab myself a beer and my cowboy hat (the suns moved by now and will be in my eyes) and head back out to work.

Evenutally it gets too dark to work...
Sometimes a friend drops by with beer...
Sometimes he plays the guitar...
Sometimes we just make coctails and float in the pool looking at the stars...

It's all very quiet and normal...a new frontier for me, quite frankly...
The dishes get done...
The garbage goes out...
And somebody's got to feed the dog.

We stress about money though...which I suppose rednecks do, since we're poor.
I haven't got any money, nor am I bringing any in...
He's got an extra mouth to feed and house payments to worry about...
But there's always someone looking out for us.
People know what we're trying to get started here and are more than willing to help...
They keep their eyes open for projects...
They lend us money to stay afloat...
And there is no shortage of emotional support (for lack of a better term)...
It's hard to not believe in yourself, when everyone else believes in you so strongly.

Yeah, we're just a couple of fucking rednecks...and y'know what...that's alright...
