It was a hell of a week. Filled with ups and downs.
At work.
At home.
In my personal life...
And despite my extreme upset in my personal life...somehow by the end of the week I was in a pretty good place with everything.
The whole thing is something I've been meaning to share about...but haven't been able to put my thoughts together very well...so we'll just have to wait on that.
HOWEVER...what's really on my mind today is this thing with the immigrants.
We have 13 people working in the shop...8 of whom are Mexican, two are Vietnamese...all of whom I believe won't be coming into work today.
I'll be covering in the office for some of the day...which leaves only two body techs to do any work.
Now...I have a long, long history of being politically active...so I can certainly support where this is all coming from. But I gotta tell you, this sucks. Our shop will lose thousands of dollars. Our shop who HIRES these workers...supports them...gets them health insurance...even though a couple of them are not yet legal.
I dunno...seems that they're biting the hand that feeds them...and that's pretty counter productive.
If I hadn't been angry with the immigrants before...I am now.
I still support and respect them...but I hate that they're fucking up my day.

I haven't really been following this immagrant issue which is kind of shameful, but it's already hit home here too - a guy we used to have with us last year named Hernandez called us the other day and said he was back in Mexico. They got him. Poor guy.
