I feel like I should update...or something...
However...my life really isn't that exciting at the moment.

Spending a week NOT collecting evidence is an awful lot harder than you might think...however, when you can get it to work, it's really great.
Instead of spending a week tortured by my homesickness for NYC...and yes, even my yearning for Houston (madness though it was)...I relaxed into a week in Monterey, California...rainy and chilly...overcast and boring...
And surprisingly enough...my social calendar started to fill up..
A Rosie the riveter memorial...
sinatras_doll coming to town...
My NYC friend James showing his film in Santa Cruz...
SG Prom...
Paso Robles car show....
And one beautifully sunny evening...hot enough to sit on the front porch in my wife beater and dickies...
***
True, I live with animals who can't seem to wash their dishes if their lives depended on it...
And true...if I don't put a garbage bag out there they'll just throw their shit on the floor (and apparently they'll do it even if i DO put a bag out there)...
And true, my libido has finally returned and I don't have anyone to express is with/to/for...
***
But...my damaged hair is growing out...
and the Texas fat is coming off...
And in case I haven't mentioned it, working with/under my new mentor is a blessing...even though not a whole lot has changed...he continues to push for me...and my boss keeps shooting him/me/us down...
***
I wake up every morning at 5am and do an hour of yoga...
(an activity i've always thought i'd hate... but somehow find myself enjoying)
I IM for an alloted period of time with friends from NYC...and fight off that, "ugh...what horror will today bring?" feeling...and remember a time when instead I'd think...what adventure will today bring?
By lunch I'm recentering...
and by 6pm I'm enjoying a cocktail and smoke out on my front porch...thinking about tomorrow...
***
Funny thing is though...you string enough of these days together and you have my life...
Every day just getting up and doing my thing...and somehow a story gets told...a story I can look back on and be inspired by...
**
Here's to me...and you...waking up every day and just doing our thing..and hopefully soon enough, we'll have a story worth telling...
