I have made it to stage two of recruitment into the NZ Army reserve. I'm really hoping I pass the medical requirements and make it to stage three. In the mean time I have to up my training effort so I'll be ready for the fitness test.

I've never heard of that around here. But like i told my boss .. if the dm suddenly decided to change her mind, i still wouldn't want to work there because i refuse to work in an environment again where the dm and i don't get along (like at my last, seven year job).

Nothing really happening in my life lately.

I started another post grad chemistry paper, stopped working in my horrible job and have done some work with NZIFST organising events to encourage young students to become scientists.

I got a raise at work today, however tomorrow is my last day so all it really does is prove what an asshole my manager is.

My university has offered me a fully paid phd if I switch to an Honors rather then Masters and get an A on my dissertation. Though this will actually be really easy since I will be part of a team of researchers working on something I can't talk about, it means I will now have to remain unemployed and poor for the next 12 months....
