I haven't written a blog in awhile... that's slightly depressing I guess. I do need to write more.

Anyhow, today I got a little freaked out because Audrey ran out the door... luckily she just walked a little ways down the walkway and just cried the entire time for no apparent reason. I'm worried that she's sad because I'm not home enough or something along those lines. She's a sweet cat and I would absolutely hate anything to happen to her. I'll put a picture of her on here.

A couple days back I bought season 1 of the HBO series Carnivale... I don't know if any of you have seen it but it is an absolutely awesome television show. I do have a slight problem with shows like this or book along its vein. I get sucked in. It gets to a point where reality is warped and the snap back is extremely intense. It makes me wish for the ability to be a gypsy or carnie where life really is freedom. The life of a gypsy/carnie is that of communal based anarchy. It is freedom but no crimes are committed due to the knowledge that if a wrong is done the consequence would be one getting banned from the community. There are simple "laws" which no community can exist without but the way to do this and still maintain pure freedom is by having every single person in the community vote on the rules, not have a governing body, and make the consequence not death nor jail only expulsion from the commune. This could not work with cities as large as Austin, Houston, New York, Boston, Miami, Los Angeles, Chicago, or any real large city due to the populace and expanse of the city itself. This first mistake made in this country was expansion. I believe that the fore founders believed in small communities where each community could vote over the "rules" and would be self-ran by the people for the people. This offers pure freedom. That is why this is the "land of the free" not because of our "democratic" society, but because it was based off of freedom. This idea was corrupted, distorted, misinterpreted, and manipulated to make power hungry people have power and those who craved money rich. The constitution is about freedom, not oppression.

Anyhow... Carnivale not only peeked my anarchist radar but also my religious and spiritual. In the show, there are numerous "psychic" occurrences as well as the classic battle of good vs. evil. BUT, the difference here is the good is not the Christian minister but the carnies who want only but to be free. The evil is represented by the oppressive minister who, I believe, acts as a catalyst for the Christian apocalypse. If you have not seen this show... rent it. By the way... I am a pagan... I believe the earth and all creatures on the earth is sacred and must all be treated with respect. Nature is far too beautiful and perfect to not praise it. If the definition of "god" or "a god" is one who creates, then to me, the earth is the divine creator. She creates things on a daily basis whether it be a new plant or just the clouds above our heads. We take all that earth has given us for granted... now look at what's happening. Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Gustav, six tornadoes touched down in VIRGINIA this last year, tornadoes in FLORIDA, earthquakes in Nevada, fires and tornadoes here in Texas, tropical storms Fay, Alma, and Julio, hurricane Dolly, and it's only getting worse. We made our mother mad and she's out to punish. Christians call it the wrath of God.
Honestly, we deserve it.

Be peaceful, love your planet, love your fellow inhabitants of the planet, love your fellow man as though they were your siblings, and most of all... be respectful of what's around you.
Until next time,

-Hlatus
