Sounds like your current guy fell into the "I'm down with you playing with other chicks (but as long as in front of me)" trap. I've got one buddy who has tried a few poly relationships but it's been more about the sex as the normal issues (emotional availability, money, arguments, schedules) which get in way of relationships was just doubled and quickly overcame the physical aspect. The fact that you've taken the time to write down your thoughts makes it seem like you know which way you need to go. However, maybe that doesn't need to happen right away and the current beau can grow into being more comfortable with all the feelings, his and yours. You won't really know that without more time, talk and mutual respect.
