I can't seem to sleep for more than 4 or 5 hours, and I don't know why. I get my full 8, but never in a row, and this leaves me feeling a bit groggy for a large part of the day. It's past 6am now, and I've got work at 11h30, so I won't make this long.
I got my Horiyoshi III book, "108 Heroes of the Water Margin" in the mail today, the artwork is breathtaking. I also found a guy in the UK with the original first edition Water Margin books, with library binding, from 1963. They're a deal at about 80 bucks, here's hoping I win the auction.
Since I don't have the space to work on stained glass, or live in the country to raise pheasants and chickens, I've decided to take up billiards again. My Dad's happy about it, he was always playing the house pros at Jilly's. And now he wants to train me up, so I've got to get myself a cue, a good one, but no need to spend over 2 grand on a Russ Espiritu or anything. I'm looking for an affordable Meucci cue, something for the serious beginner, maybe the Ultra Piston-1 model.
Alexandra is out of the psychiatric ward at the Royal Vic, she's living with her Mother at the moment and will eventually get her own place. We all hope her baby will be born healthy and that her support network will help the little tike out once it's born. That baby shouldn't have to pay for Alexandras mistakes. (Her psychosis was, after all, self-induced through her heavy drug use.) She really isn't the same person anymore, and I honestly can't stand being around her knowing how much she's fucked up her life with that shit.
Stew is good, it sticks to the ribs and is quite filling. Sara and I have refined our recipe with thyme, rosemary, black pepper and Breton sea salt. A large pot lasts us about 3 days. And at 12 bucks for the meat and vegetables that go in, it's a great value. Good winter food.
For those who don't know what "Hivernal" means, it stands for "Winterlike" or "---- of Winter", depending on how you want to use it. The word denotes what I've been feeling like all Summer. Although I love my garden and the warm weather, I find the heat too much to bare most of the time. And no, I have no air-conditioning to pussy-out with.
