Tonight, my kids were the guests on Film Forum, a public access show on Comcast which is apparently only available in the city limits of Atlanta (and perhaps Decatur?), My friend Matt is one of the hosts, and it turns out that the Darius that he mentioned was a new cameraman this season is someone whom I've known of through other people for at least six years. Small world!
Anyway, the kids were on for their annual movie theatre etiquette episode, and after they reviewed Ice Harvest and Yours Mine and Ours, the kids came out to cause mayhem and havoc while Aron, the other host and producer, talked on a cell phone and Matt pleaded for better behavior in movie theatres.
His plea, I suppose, fell on deaf ears - I mean, the only people who watch a public access movie review show are probably people who really like movies and behave in theatres already - but the kids had a great time acting like hellions, and, from the safety of the director's booth, it looked pretty hilarious.
Oh yes, and there was an interning assistant director
with whom I hit it off quite well, and I insisted Matt arrange some sort of follow-up meeting as soon as humanly possible. Man better come through; I'm taking him to a hockey game next weekend so he will owe me... !
