This has been one of the weirder illnesses I've suffered. My short-term memory and my sense of time is all screwed up. I can remember the "sick" feeling hitting me like a truck Sunday evening as I turned onto 316 from Dacula - I'd driven Rebecca to her parents' house - and wheezing it off, but I don't remember driving home. I got back around 5.40 and laid down on the couch until Deb returned the children at 6. I asked if she wouldn't mind staying later or overnight and watching the kids so I could go to bed. Mom reminded me this morning - she stopped in to check on me - that she had phoned about 9 and woke me. Don't remember it. Anyway, she picked the kids up from school and kept them last night to give me some recovery time... ugh.
Prior to that, we had a really nice weekend. Obligations, stressors, distance, work and kids have prevented Rebecca and I from spending very much time together, plus we spent the better part of three weeks being steamed at each other, so it was very good to just shut as much of the world out as possible and spend a heavenly evening together, away from children and nonsense, with a spectacular meal at the wonderful Thai of Athens (OMG SALT AND PEPPER SUEGAI SO GOOD), and a lovely morning curled up in bed eating Krispy Kreme and watching Turner Classic Movies. Mmmmmmmmmmm.
Athens is just wonderful on homecoming weekend. So many happy people. Well, maybe not so happy for our quarterback to go down and be benched for the Florida game, dammit, dammit, dammit, but otherwise yeah.
Oh, look, it's ibuprofen time. Wheeeeeeee!
