Three day work week. Training on grill tonight. My line training is almost complete (sans forno).

Canada day weekend = much excitement and camping.

Haven't applied at new restaurant yet (I don't have a printer, so I'm not sure yet how to get my resume printed off.)

Last night was the roommates birthday celebration. Evo (hardcore night) wasn't my scene, so I ended up at...

Listening to: SuicideGirls Radio biggrin

I went to this little Vegan restaurant today. Ive known about it for quite some time, but Ive never taken the time to go in there and try it out. Well all of that changed this evening.

The food was actually pretty tasty. I enjoyed everything. The best part of the trip though wasnt the food. I found out that this...

I work in a greasy mexican restaurant/pub that is in a very popular area of town, and thus is usually very busy. There's really nothing classy about our kitchen at all, but I have fun and the people I work with are cool. smile

mostly just nachos and wings! smile

I'm a cook, there's really not much of a ranking there, you're either a dishwasher, prep cook, or cook. Sometimes I end up as all of them!

There is nakedness of you somewhere on this site? eeek eeek Oh my!

My roommate got an ipod mini for his birthday.

I am the definition of jealous.

Someday I'll be rich and have everything I desire. Until then, I'll just be happy for my friends. Happy Birthday Kyle.

Geez, everyone is getting those things. And we're late in the trend, too.

I'm glad you like the Digable Planets so far. I love New Pornographers. Which album are you listening to? "Electric Version"? I'm curious, because I heard that they're releasing another album some time this year, maybe in the fall.

When you rent again, you should check out Dazed & Confused. It's kind of a teen movie, but set in the 70s and super fun. It made me wish I'd been around for more than the last 3 months of the 70s.

Time for another one of my paradoxes.

I think I write way too much.
And yet I never really write enough.

I think I'll leave it at that for tonight. Weekends starting NOW with that movie...
colette79:
Wow, you're up early! You're having a very pensive weekend, aren't you?

Listening to: Clap Your Hands Say Yeah! (self titled)

Work drained me last night. Like completely.

Normally Fridays are my night to just stay in and watch movies and relax. Im usually awake at 6am on Saturday mornings to make that trip to Nanaimo for training, so I don't like to do anything too strenuous the evening before.

Work though ugh sometimes work brings me...

you and me are like, restaurant buddies! Although I know your restaurant is much classier than mine. Our staff drinks in the kitchen ALL the time. And the bartenders give it away freely. It rules, and it makes a slow night much more fun!

Ugh, what a day. And now its so late.

All in all, my day wasnt too bad. Not as bad as my roommates anyways. Unfortunately, he was caught drinking alcohol while on shift, and he was let go. Whats worse is that his girlfriend faced the same fate as well, because she supplied his beverage.

Now Im not here to write a whole lot about...

Haha, I love using "Boo-urns" when writing. It's funny when something from a cartoon has pervaded the collective conciousness. I mean, everyone knows what "boo-urns" means, even people who are not necessarily Simpsons fans.

I'm feeling slightly better. Staying home on Tuesday was a good idea, because that was the worst by far. I had Wednesday and Thursday off anyway, and I slept in both of those days and took it easy too. I watched Dazed and Confused yesterday (one of my favourites) and I also watched Do the Right Thing, which was fitting, given the crazy hot weather we've been having. It was so hot and muggy, but now it's perfect out, there's even a nice breeze.

You might like I ♥ Huckabees, definitely rent it and check it out, anyway. I can't remember if I noticed Tank Girl on your favourite film list before. I love that movie! Yay for tough cartoon chicks!

ps: sneezing rocks!

Holy shit it's Thursday. Lucky Bar tonight for Hang The DJ.

(real entry tonight after I get back from the bar...)

Grrr... long entry eaten when I accidentally refreshed the page. Here we go again

Listening to: Isole - Wearemonster (if you're into ambient/electronic music, it's most entertaining!)

My hours have been cut back at the restaurant this past week or two. I'm not entirely sure if it's been a conscience decision on the chef's part, or if perhaps it's been because we've been better prepared...

it's so fucking hot today.... puke I don't like it this hot at all.

Boo-urns, I wish I could go dancing with you, I bet it would be a blast!

Soo... WHAT should I write about. How about nothing?

First of all, happy Summer Solstice to everyone. Today is officially the first day of Summer. The weather has been speaking summer for the past couple of weeks, but now it's completely official.

My roommate is beside me, talking on the phone to Kasia (his girl). She had wanted him to hang out tonight but he's...

You should play with your cute little kitty if you're bored. Barney is crying at the apartment door again, so I keep petting him in hopes that he just wants attention and will not keep this up all night. miao!!

Have you ever heard the Digable Planets? Jazzy hip-hop from the mid-90s. I like them.

I just thought I'd throw that out there since you and Nikonjustice were talking music before.
colette79:
Don't feel bad for wanting to laugh, it is pretty funny. We were able to put the table back together for now, but I want to see if we can find something at Value Village or something one of these days. smile

It's my Sunday! Yesterday I didn't really end up doing anything productive at all, so I'm going to get it all done today. Then I can start this week off on the right foot.

Definitely building up to something...

Lot's of birthdays in the coming weeks. Including mine (for real this time)! biggrin

Happy not-Sunday!

Thanks for the compliment. smile It was nice to have met you, I had a great time in Vic. I really needed to get away somewhere to relax, and of course I did just that.
