I had a great day. Work went well, and I managed to start to get the hang of really talking to people about the charity. If you want to visit me on the job, I'll be in the vicinity of Douglas and View tomorrow, wearing my SPCA vest. 
Tonight while I was out for my run, I passed by an accident that took place on Cook street. Somebody was the victim of a hit and run, and they were lying injured in the middle of the street. Fortunately, the police and rescue attendants were already on the scene trying to make sure everything was taken care of, so I continued with my running. Still, how horrible is that to be hit by a car in the middle of the intersection, and then to just have the car take off on you. (I think I heard someone say they at least got the license plate number.)
My friend (roommates girlfriend) was supposed to call me tonight to go out to coffee with me. She's had a bit of a rough couple of weeks recently. First she was fired, and then very recently her sister committed suicide. I don't know the details about how that happened, but I know that my friend was very close to her, and she feels really heartbroken by the whole situation.
She didn't end up calling me back tonight.
I'm on book two of the Harry Potter series (just a few chapters in). They really are fun books to read. I think that's what I needed to get me back into reading again; something light and entertaining.
And I love my new job, if only because I have evenings and weekends FREE! I hope to visit Thetis lake this weekend. Who's with me?
