So my first day of working for Public Outreach went pretty well. My mouth is a little bit sore from smiling all day. I said "Hi, do you have a moment for the SPCA" so many times today! But it was fun too. I got an SPCA newsletter and magazine tonight to read over, so that I can learn a little bit more about the organization and what they do for animals.

I knew my scripts well enough, but now I just have to know more about what they do so that I can tell people how great it is! I mean, there are so many aspects to their business, including cruelty investigations, education about animal welfare, running the shelters, providing medical care to injured or abandoned animals... it all costs money.

And it's up to me to help raise that money for them. smile

I think I'm going to enjoy this. It's not easy work at all. One thing I forgot is that when the pace of work is casual and slower (like standing in the street waiting to talk to people) as opposed to working non stop (like I did at the restaurant) time seems to crawl on a lot slower. But I almost appreciate that, because it made my day a lot more interesting. I mean... Holy crap, it felt absolutely amazing to be done work at a normal time. I came home tonight, watched the evening news, had some dinner, and did some studying for the SPCA. And now, it's just shortly past eleven, and I'm beat! I'm going to bed right away.

This will be the first time I'm asleep before midnight in probably almost a year. (With the exception of a day when I was sick, when I slept the entire day anyways.)

smile Oh, and by the way, Public Outreach provides sunscreen for me! Yay! And beyond that, we take efforts to make sure we don't stay in the sun for too long anyways.

I am very happy right now. But I need to get to sleep so I can be up bright and early to do it all again.

Good luck! And pick up some sunscreen at a drugstore if you can!
