Last night at Lucky was Solid Saturdays. It was a lot of fun, and I think it's quickly becoming my favorite night of the week. The old "Hang the DJ" was my favorite, but it's since been replaced by Mod night. (I do enjoy mod night, but because most of my taste lies in new music, I don't have as much fun with all the older stuff they play.)
I saw the incredible Pennylane80 at the window yet again. Unfortunately for her, she was working all evening and couldn't come out to enjoy the music.

Because I go to the club by myself, I always have plenty of time to sit alone and do silly things like draw on the back of cards. Last night I took a card and turned it into the "Hipples Dance Card".
Here's how it works. The card has some rules on the back of it. It basically says "The person who gave you this card would like to dance with you. You must dance once with them, and then you get to keep the card (to give to someone else in exchange for a dance)." I had hoped to get the card circulating through the dance floor. I think it made it through about four people before the system started to break down.
Some shy person got it, and tried to just hand it off to their friend, who tried to just hand it off... eventually I saw someone put it in their pocket. I walked over to them and was like "HEY! If you're not going to do what the card says, then at least hand it back to me so that I can put it to use!". They gave it back to me without too much hesitation. I then saw a girl (I've told this girl at the end of a previous night that I thought she was cute...) that recognized me, and I gave her the card. We danced a song before she went back to her friends. She passed it to some obnoxious boy who hastily threw it someone else... and the whole thing broke down again.
I was disappointed, but it was fun while it lasted.

So I'm about half way through the first Harry Potter right now. I don't know how much time I've put to reading it, but it seems like a lot. Oh well... it's a fun book, and very easy to read, so I'm enjoying it.
I keep wanting to read it, but I have to also study my SPCA information. If I don't know it off by heart, it's going to be a lot harder to get enough donations from people. Although we don't work on commission, we are expected to get a certain amount. I'm not going to say how much, because I don't want that to be what drives me in this work. (It makes sense though... if we're not producing results, why keep us out there...)
Everyone who asks me what I've started seems to stifle a laugh when I tell them. I know it doesn't *seem* like the greatest work, but I'm really looking forward to it. I'll be doing something positive and making better wages than I did before. And besides, I just plan to do this for a few months until I can become licensed and work with the financial company full time.
Anyways, I've got some reading to do...

The Harry Potter books are a lot of fun. Ol' J.K. is a great storyteller, although sometimes her form lacks a little (sentence structure & the like).
