My first officially unemployed day was... well... a disaster. It didn't go badly, but I was way too lazy for my own good when I was struck by a sudden disinterest in doing anything that would better my situation. Evil Dead II provided some entertainment, but that was about it. I left my house in the evening to go to the restaurant, but nobody was able to talk to me about getting tips or pay or anything like that.

Once I finally got out of the house though, I felt much better about going out to hunt. I'm not sure why I was so lazy, but I'm well aware that I can't stay that way if I'm going to get another job (and survive this temporary joblessness). Public Outreach didn't end up calling me yesterday, and although they might just be taking their time, I have this uneasy feeling that they decided something about me wasn't worth hiring after all.

My next step (on the hunt) then is going to be gathering names and contact information about possible jobs that I *would* be interested in. I'm going to "suit up" again this afternoon and go for a walk downtown past every prospective employer I can think of, for the sole purpose of collecting intel about what's available and who I should talk to when I bring in the actual application on Wednesday. (whew... long sentance...)

Completely unrelated note: My lobster arms are less lobster-esque today.

Monday night is "Lucky 90210"! Nineties night! Even without income, my visits to the club rarely cost me more than a few tips for the water I drink. I danced up a storm last night. My night ended at someone's house too. I actually don't know if that's a good thing though... she had had a fair amount to drink. I only meant to walk her home when she invited me in, and I only managed to refuse her invitation once before caving.

Oh well, it's not much use worrying about it now. I think she's working all afternoon so I'm going to go say hi to her later while job hunting.

Okay, I'm off to watch a movie before I head out on the hunt. I'm out like a trout! miao!!

I haven't actually heard any of them, because my computer's been braindead for the past while. I'll be getting it back within the next few days, and I'll learn all about these fancy podcasts then.

Question: I was walking home tonight and saw "Hipples" written on that wooden tunnel-type thing along Yates Street, right where all that construction's been going on. Is this your doing? I thought of you, of course.

Maybe I'll see you at Lucky tomorrow.
