My biggest hobby is music... but I don't actually play anything. I just have a ridiculously large library of music (18+ days continuous, without repeating), and so I spend a lot of time listening to or acquiring more music.

I don't actually pay for all the music in my library, so a lot of time is wasted on the internet trading albums via torrent networks. I am definitely a proponent of supporting artists though, so anything that I really enjoy will warrant the purchase of the actual CD if I listen to it enough (or if I want a good copy to take with me in my "ghetto-disc").

Then of course, I like going to shows to see the bands I love play live. I would say I get out to at least one or two shows a month. To support the artists (further than seeing them play live), I will usually purchase a t-shirt or poster (if I can afford it).

Going out to shows got me addicted to going out in general. I'm at a local club at least three nights a week, either dancing or attempting to awkwardly meet people. Because I don't drink, I rarely have to pay more than cover charge. Its a lot of fun, and I adore making new friends while out and about.

I love reading in my spare time. Actually I've been pretty bad about reading these past few weeks, but I'm starting to get interested in a few books again. I want to chew through another novel, but I have to find something worth putting that time into again first. Instead, I've just been spending hours reading articles from Adbusters, books about financial planning, or my cook books.

Which leads me to my next hobby of sorts: I love to cook. Some think that because I'm a cook in a restaurant, I'd get sick of the processes and eat only simple food at home. Cooking at the restaurant tends to be very repetitive and unchanging. When I'm home I get the chance to experiment with a lot of different ingredients and cooking styles though, and I can make something completely different every time if I so desire. Since the beginning of June I have been on a stricter (vegan) diet as well, which tends to force me to prepare a lot more of my own food. I love cooking for myself, and I am an even bigger fan of having company to cook for, so I find the process of preparing food very rewarding.

I also do some writing (short stories, poetry, music/movie/game reviews, articles for various media outlets that might actually print me) on the side. Unfortunately, in the past few weeks I've not really been doing as much of the writing though either. I find I spend a lot of time putting thoughts into journals, or writing emails to old friends... and not as much into my other projects. I would like to change that soon though... In the earlier part of the year I was working with some activists in Victoria on something of a Zine, but we've all grown busy with other aspects of our lives and it's died down quite a bit. Hopefully we'll start it (or something related) going again soon.

That sums up about 90% of my free time (non work/training related) I think. The rest is wasted on napping/sleeping, watching movies, the internet, or playing games.

Oops, I tried to put a skull smilie in my last comment and it didn't work.

Wow! You are very busy, when do you find time to go to work? I'd love to go out more, but my lack of funds prohibits me from doing a lot of things. But I do have a standing date to go to Karaoke every single Monday. That's a lot of fun, but I wish I knew more people that liked to go dancing on a regular basis. I'd love to go dancing every week or maybe every two weeks, it's like it melts away tension...

I've got to run to work now, I'll talk to you later. Have a great day!
