Listening to: "Death From Above 1979" and "The Eagles of Death Metal"

Okay, so my weekends coming to a close. I'm tempted to stay up a lot later, but I want to get up at a decent time tomorrow so that maybe I can go for a run or something exercise-like before work. Knowing me though, it's not going to happen. I'm going to have...

Listening to: Rilo Kiley!

Work was not a lot of fun last night. The chef of the restaurant is constantly doing little things to make me respect him less and less. I wont go into details about his latest exploit, but hes not gaining any points with me lately. I hold my leaders very accountable: if the chef, for instance, doesnt wear a hat on...

My biggest hobby is music... but I don't actually play anything. I just have a ridiculously large library of music (18+ days continuous, without repeating), and so I spend a lot of time listening to or acquiring more music.

I don't actually pay for all the music in my library, so a lot of time is wasted on the internet trading albums via torrent networks....

Oops, I tried to put a skull smilie in my last comment and it didn't work.

Wow! You are very busy, when do you find time to go to work? I'd love to go out more, but my lack of funds prohibits me from doing a lot of things. But I do have a standing date to go to Karaoke every single Monday. That's a lot of fun, but I wish I knew more people that liked to go dancing on a regular basis. I'd love to go dancing every week or maybe every two weeks, it's like it melts away tension...

I've got to run to work now, I'll talk to you later. Have a great day!

I'm so low on energy today. Just want to sleeeeeep. I didn't end up staying up too late last night, but it was probably still later than I should have been up (with work this morning and all).

BUT... I got paid today. Not that I have lots of money now, but I can take care of all the little bills I've been putting off....

I've been very boring lately. I mostly just read magazines and waste time. I started learning how to knit, but it's a hobby that takes money for yarn & such, and I don't really have much extra money, what I do have, I end up spending right away. I haven't done any special projects yet.

I want to knit a cute backpack with a skull on it :skull;

What do you do in your free time for hobbies and the like?

Listening to: All the old music I haven't touched in awhile (The Faint, Bright Eyes, Flaming Lips, Le Tigre, Fugazi and Final Fantasy (the band, not game related))

I don't think going out was a good idea tonight. I saw Malloreigh (only breifly), met another girl and got to dance quite a bit...

But my head's not into this tonight.

I feel really emotionally drained...

I've thought I was in love many more times than I actually have been. I think I've also loved more times than I've been in love. There's no sin in that, I don't think; it took me a few trials before I really discovered what love was. I try not to regret that time, or consider it wasted. It's all experience that's lent itself to who and what I am now, right?

(I'm sorry I didn't hang around last night. A friend of mine needed following home soon after you arrived. To be fair, I also couldn't dance another step... I know that those shoes are not, in fact, my new dancing shoes.)
colette79:
Yay! Two SG friends! Hee hee, we popped your SG friend cherry.

I hope you're feeling better now. Did the staying up late help? I couldn't sleep last night, but it wasn't for lack of trying. I was mostly just seething. Little things piss me off, and then I just lie there stewing over them.

I'll let you know as soon as I post a photo of my new hair. I ended up doing something totally different than planned, but I feel like it's more me than the previous colour was.

I'm tired. Work today was uninteresting, and this whole issue with not being promoted has left me a little less than happy with the job environment.

I want out, but I'm not sure how to do it. I'm not going to quit until I've found something else of course. Finding another job scares me more than wasting time away in this one, because I'm either...

Urg... I'm upset right now.

With the addition of our new leader in the kitchen, several new positions have opened up. I have made it very clear for some time now that my biggest problem with work was having to work split shifts or evening shifts. Then, recently a position was opened for the day team, and once again, I put my name in the...

That situation at your work really stinks. I also work in a place where they don't seem to appreciate the work we do, even though they expect a lot, especially for a retail position. But then you got screwed over, too. frown

I like your new profile picture! Hilarious! biggrin

Also, your kitty is very cute, but why does he have a little red moustache?
malloreigh:
I was wondering how long it was going to take you to comment on my journal. I told you to do that -weeks- ago! (Nice profile picture, by the way, but I knew before I saw it -- just so you're aware.)

Yesterday I lost my cat. Not gone for good though... I was lucky enough to find him quickly when a neighbour pointed him out in some bushes next to our apartment building. How or when he got away, I'm not exactly sure. I live on the third floor of an apartment building, and for him to have jumped seems a bit scary...

He's mostly okay...

Aw, poor kitty! I hope that cures him of his desire to sneak outside. Our kitty is constantly meowing at the apartment door, even though he knows that there is only a hallway out there. He doesn't seem to cry at the windows ever, even though he can smell the great outdoors that way. He's a bit weird, I guess.

Right now I am playing 'fetch the sock' with him. He'll run away in anticipation, which only diminishes the distance that he'll have to chase the sock, but he seems to think that's half the fun.

I hope your phone doesn't get shut off!
colette79:
Hey, do you have any photos of your kitty? Barney stars in his own folder, titled "The fabulous Mr. B". He is an attention whore. smile

Well my little weekend is over now... and I didn't do a whole lot. But I got a few thoughts straightened out and cleaned a little bit too. Even got out for a run today.

Like house keeping for the mind, home, and body...

I feel kind of empty inside right now. Can't explain the feeling, maybe I'm just lonely again. But I'm gonna go...

Had a fun pre-birthday party tonight. I told everyone that it wasn't really my birthday (until July 6th). Luckily, nobody seemed to mind, due to the fact that everyone was enjoying our posse and the music. Some of the guys that came out won't be here when my real birthday rolls around anyways, so it was a nice way to celebrate with them before they...

Happy unbirthday!

My weekend is always Wednesday and Thursday. My shifts at the bookstore are all the same, because not only am I a bookseller, I am also the music buyer's assistant. So my job is to cover the time that he's not in the store, which is primarily evenings, and then he gets Sundays and Mondays off, so I work solely in the music department those days.

I really hope that I get this job. I enjoy the people that I work with at the bookstore, but I really need more money. One entire paycheque every month gets put towards my government and credit union student loans. Then I pay rent (shared, of course), and utilities and groceries and then I have a little spending money. But it's not much, doesn't leave much for going out or socializing or other such non-essential things. But I like non-essentials like cds, books & other stuff, so it's difficult for me.

Sounds like you had an interesting night/morning. I wouldn't feel too bad about the dancing girls, what with clubs being like meat markets, I'm sure they're just on their guard, no matter who approaches.
colette79:
I am all about having "me time". I like to just hang out a relax after work.

The job I applied for wasn't totally blind, they were hiring for a specific position. I will also submit a resume into the general hiring scrum a bit later.

I love getting new to me furniture! I have so much fun decorating, I wish I could do more. We got a free bed from my grandparents recently (it was only 2 years old and pretty much in mint condition), and we also got a free couch for our living room a few months back (we had nothing but a motley assortment of chairs for about 8 months or so).

Up late. Again.

Come to my (fake/pre)-birthday party tonight (June 1st) at Hugos.
colette79:
D-oh! Not again. Did you have fun at least?

I worked 'til 10pm and then went to a friend's house briefly before coming home and mailing my kitties love letter reply. Then Nikonjustice and I went out for a drink, and then we came home, watched South Park and went to sleep.

All in all, pretty uneventful, but fun nonetheless. smile

Listening to "Joanna Newsom" - "The Milk-Eyed Mender" (album) (Got a taste for it again after reading Colette79's comments... first obtained it after a record store employee suggested I check it out in February...)

Today was not the greatest day. It was, however, a full day off from work.

In the morning instead of going away to Nanaimo for training, I called my ride and...

That really sucks about the tax return. I actually got audited one year, but it wasn't that bad. Mostly because I don't make enough money to have a very large refund, and therefore, I don't usually owe money either. I haven't even filed for this year yet. Oops!

Well, like you said, tomorrow is another day, and you did get a comfy blue chair, so not all is lost, right? smile
colette79:
I honestly think that the government doesn't really care when you file your tax return if they owe you money, but when the shoe is on the other foot, watch out!

I think the new Gwen album is so materialistic, but damn if it isn't really catchy. Plus, I like fashion, so if she covets Comme Des Garcons, I can't really hold it against her. smile

I listened to Joanna on the way to work again. It's so unusual, but I really like it. Nikonjustice (my boyfriend), on the other hand, does not. Well, pooh to him, 'cause he likes lots of music that I don't. tongue

Hope you get some sleep!
