SPCA-------lack of food. Pesonally I don't see a problem(kidding of course). Good for you man. I'll be getting back to doing some volunteering myself once I've got myself staightend out. Usually I like doing Enviromental Reclamation type stuff. The physical labour appeals to me.
In terms of job, most of the people I know said almost all the local constuction sites are willing to take on casual labourers, so I guess your best bet is to go and talk to some one at one of the sites here.
