Sweet Sweet Communication!
I FINALLY called up my boy, my man, my friend of friends, Chris. The one thing that we have is an undying willingness to be loved by eachother. Our shortcomings, our insecurities, or funks, or quirks - they make our relationship special and everytime I talk with him even if he pisses me off - it makes me smile. To have a confidant like him in my life makes everything clearer.
Isn't it simply amazing how at time the best cure for a deep funk, one that can lead you to isolate from everything - is a conversation with someone who knows you - almost as well (and at times even better) than you know yourself.
I do not have a large number of friends - and I tend to be very protective and discenring of those who get my undivided attention. But those that get through to me - I will hold on to forever. I can say that there are three people on this planet (aside from my family) that can make me smile - they are an instant cure for the pits. they bring out what shines and they share what doesn't - who can ask for anymore?
And I know when the next lass that comes along to capture my heart - I'll see the same eyes peering back at me. The same love and struggle that I feel daily with my select few.
And to her - I will open wide.
