this is what happens when kinky tech nerds get bored. my boyfriend wrote this, not me. wish i could take credit but nope..

At TomFoolery Tech we are always following the latest technology trends. We would like to provide you with a comprehensive update on the emerging Shibari 2.0 technology. It offers state of the art features with the highest usability. New and experienced users will find our system is rewarding while it continues to offer extremely high levels of uptime and reliability.

Our transport layer consists of multi-threaded fibers that have been proven to hold up to the demanding loads encountered in dynamic Shibari 2.0 sessions. A variety of configurations and meshes are implemented dynamically depending on the interface requirements. A wide range of user configurations will work with Shibari 2.0 flexibility is essential.

Redundant multi-line connections assure high carrying capacity for our users. This unique system uses a ring protocol reduces overhead and line clutter. In some specific cases a multi point link system for higher flexibility is deployed automatically for the user. Hoisting packages are readily available in the current market from a number of providers.

The graphic user interface offers full support for user supplied skins. This allows customization that goes far beyond other systems. User provided skins can be removed and the user can experience native mode transfers for optimal markup efficiency; this yields many more impressions per session. Interactions supported in Shibari 2.0 include visual, verbal, and in some cases privileged port access depending on user familiarity and expertise. In all modes tactile feedback is available. Building a graphic interface of this caliber required extensive development effort.

Prior to going into suspend mode, multiple connections are routed and peripherals are assigned specific load capacities. User configuration is dynamically adjusted during the session, which can operate vertically, horizontally or inverted.

Uplink rates are calibrated on a per-session basis. Rapid uplink can be achieved but at a slightly higher error rate. Most errors are recovered immediately. In some cases non-recoverable errors may occur. The user is notified of non-recoverable errors by an immediate termination of the upload link, followed by crash warnings. Recoverable errors are automatically followed by system reconfiguration.

Line conditioning is built in to the system. Raw lines are treated off-line before the session and terminations are applied to prevent the serious condition referred to as unraveling. Lines are kept in reserve until needed, then deployed rapidly in redundant configurations.

Every session is supported by a CST (Certified Shibari Technician), The technician will monitor and control the session, unless the user executes an override. The Secure Authorization Failure Extension (SAFE) Word system allows the user to maintain control at all times. Users may opt to use a sub-channel, in which case the CST may have to exercise his own judgment. System recovery time can be affected by session contents and modes.

Session security is user configurable. Private sessions are not broadcast and have co-location requirements. Public sessions are hosted by various providers and still require authentication. Multi user sessions are possible but more often single user mode is preferred. Mutlicasting allows a large number of session viewers, but at the risk of interference. Data Monitors (DMs) are available to ensure a non-interruptible session.

Interconnect technology has advanced from overhand to multi-loop. But coils are often used to help with induction. With the introduction of ring protocols recently there has been a trend toward using 360 phase rotation devices. High Efficiency Multiple Packet (HEMP) lines are most often used, but a variety of synthetic lines are seen in some applications. Standards for Shibari 2.0 are still emerging, and differences exist between the Asian and domestic implementations. However because of the extensible nature of Shibari 2.0, user contributions and geographic variations are easily accommodated.

The Design Oversight Joint Organization (DOJO) meets regularly to discuss adoption and standards. Peer review is an important element in the evolution of Shibari 2.0. There are many working groups and user conferences.

We here at TomFoolery Tech look forward to the evolution of Shibari 2.0 and its widespread adoption.
