So, not all is well and happy in the world of miniatures. I discovered that the plastic parts explode off the metal miniatures if you drop them. The same goes for plastic miniatures with metal parts, can we say heavy weapons squad.

The problem being that I prefer to paint things in sections and then glue them all together, this means I'm gluing paint to paint. So when you drop it, the paint to metal bond is what is holding it together, and that's not strong at all.

The other option is to glue it all together, then undercoat it like that and paint it. The problem with this is that you just can't get the brushes in there to paint everything the way you want to.

This could very well lead to me choosing which models to purchase based on which ones have their arms flung wide or can be mod'd to do that. The ones with arms/weapons covering their chests might fall by the wayside.

In programming news, it seems that xsl might be the devil incarnate. I got the script working for the etools character sheets on my machine, but of course it doesn't work on my friends machine, even parsing the same .chr file. This is gonna drive me nuts I'm sure.

Finished the Night Watch book last night, started in on Monstrous Regiment. Strange to have the 27th book in the series be back story and forwards in the timeline at once, but I liked it anyways. We'll see how the new one is. Got a book on php/mysql to read after that that I'm looking forward to.

On a side note, I always find using the same word twice in a sentence strange, I mean sure it's correct, but I always find myself looking for something else to put there. That that that that sentence contains looks out of place.

Anyways, back to the grind.

Can you paint, then remove the paint with fine sand paper or a scalpel or something? I guess that means you have weak points which would start to flake?
