Well, when I was around thirteen I swear I saw a figure in my room. It really scared me at the time, but always assumed it was 'residue' from a dream, because I've heard of that happening before. I'm pretty sure there's a rational explanation for everything, but it's still creepy.

I think someone's buying it soon. Maaaaybe.

I haven't played it. It does look awesome.

Insomnia's a bitch frown

A month or so in movies:

A while ago I mentioned that Iron Man rocks. That may be something of an understatement - it rocks big time, and is possibly the most enjoyable film I have seen all year so far (possibly only to be topped by The Dark Knight next month. If you haven't seen it yet then you should...

I'm not really a socialiser, but hey, we'll see. x

He was talking about his son Joel a lot (who was sat on the sofa on the stage by his side) - a lot of anecdotes about family life etc. Then he went on to talk a little about his bizarre adventures with Robbie and then about a couple of his books, Them and Men Who Stare at Goats and that was it. We saw him and Joel every day throughout the festival and he looked so ordinary! I'd never heard of him before Latitude so he was one of my great finds biggrin

I've also had my house redecorated and now I'm sat here when I should be rearranging my furniture in my bedroom and clearing things away so that it looks nice in here. I have so much to do and don't really know where to start.

I'm also now contemplating whether I should move to Southampton or not. My head is fucked right now frown

Hope you have a wicked weekend honey.

xx

I guess I'm overdue for an update, huh? wink

So my birthday passed quietly this weekend. I was in Birmingham at the UK Games Expo helping out Esdevium (i.e. gettting paid to play board games) - I had a fun day even if it wasn't really a 'me' day. I came home pretty shattered in time to watch the last eps of Lost season 4...

Yuss. First had my tarot read when I was 18, at a psychic fayre in York dungeons. Lots more since, but the original was still the best. I started teaching myself, then went to an evening class (!) in Birmingham. That was while I was still at uni. I was quite good, I think, but I'm out of practice!

Just a flying post before I disappear off to Sweden this Easter weekend for more geeky shenanigans to say that all is well. I had an ace time in Birminham and it was great to hang out with faces old and new and to mosh like a bastard to some extremely old skool metal. I paid for it the next day but by god it...

So last week I had most of the week off and made my twice-yearly trip up to Derby to meet a bunch of cool people, drink, stay up late and geek out in the nerdiest way possible. Over the course of this last event I played:

  • A priest of the Undying Emperor in the 41st Millennium who exposed a conspiracy in the upper echelons of...

I find the videos from various places and forums biggrin

And that sounds like an intensely nerdy but quite fun time

Ha, looks like you had some fun!!

I think the British Terracotta Army must have been sex starved. That'd explain it!

Well it's that time of year where i slink away to a secluded spot near Derby to meet some of the coolest people I know (besides you lot of course) to drink, make merry and play some quality games. I'm talking old school games - board games, card games, role-playing. We even dress up on the Saturday night to do a proper murder mystery type...

Well New Year was lame as I ended up at home on my own with the flu frown 2008 is shaping out ok so far though, mainly knuckling down with work (by day) and writing (by night). The last couple of weekends have been nice and quiet, which is cool particularly as my diary for Feb/Mar is starting to fill up with gaming events and SG...

30 Days of Night is the movie adaptation of the seminal comic and graphic novel by Steve Niles and Ben Templesmith. Templesmith's distinctive style paints a dark and warped picture in blacks and whites sharply punctuated with the visceral blood red of violence. Personally I think the film did a great job of transferring the vision to the big screen, with a similar cinematography and...

A lady at work told me that the reason there are so may disabled and deformed pigeons in London is because of all the burgers and crap that people drop on the floor, these pigeons are ridiculously well fed and as a result, they survive a lot longer after getting run over/ into fights with rats/getting trapped in bins/whatever scrapes they normally get into, than your average "gutter bird". I dont really object to them, too much, but seeing those rainbow haired ones in Spain, really showed up London Pigeons to be total tramps. What a bunch of scruffy grey bastards!

i think i actually liked stardust more than the golden compass, but maybe that's just because i've read the golden compass more recently. i thought both movies very good (and so pretty!), it just kind of felt like they had to gloss over a lot, and squish stuff in, in the gc because it's so complicated. i've also heard that it can be confusing if you hadn't read the book.

are you going to see sweeny tod when it comes out over here? i saw it when i was in the states. i enjoyed it, but it was even more violently explicit than i expected!

and yes, m&m's smile we did a practice shoot in her attic and i used them as props. when the internet comes back on at the flat i'll put some of the pictures up. alternatively you could check out Leilani's blog because she's posted a couple smile

Well a fortnight ago I got to be a taciturm Yank adventurer in the 1920s, a miserable old codger from the East End in the 1940s and a scheming Bene Gesserit witch in the distant future. I also entertained people who played in a contemporary world filled with fae changelings, and the world of Star Trek after the Dominion War. And I won games of...
