Well xmas has been pretty good so far. As usual I've managed to avoid ranting about religious hypocrisy and commercialisation in favour of just catching up and getting smashed. Got spoilt rotten by my ma - got Aliens, Babylon5, Pirates, Hulk and Tenacious D on DVD hurrah!

Been drinking for 5 days solid now and all is generally good (except my bowels are starting to...

Yeah, I would have liked to know more about the slave traders as well. I recently ordered that venture chronicle book. Ventrue's are my characters of choice so I figured I should get it. I'm looking forward to that first ghenna fiction book coming out in a week or so.

Hey good to see another Breed 77 fan, i thought we were a dying (um!) breed! And are you actually an astrophysicist or are you kidding?! Im studying for a masters in Maths and Physics and specialising in astro. at the moment at Kings smile

Hmm well here I am at work wondering whether I am the only person in the country that hasn't started their Xmas hols yet. Unfortunately I have to be in tomorrow *and* Wednesday morning *and* Tuesday next week... frown

LotR RotK was ace though wasn't it? biggrin Amazing visuals and some real gut-wrenching dramatisation. Not sure about some of the bits they changed though - was Boromir...

It was indeed a damn shame you missed saturday's extreme messiness.

ROTK was fab, it was Faramir on the pyre, and I thought this one was about the closest to the books of all three. Roll on the special (4 hour + ?!?) dvd next year....

have a good xmas matey - c u soon smile
asha:
ooh, i cant wait for the dvd too! a whole extra hour! woohoo!! i only saw it on release day so another trip to the cinema is also a must pretty soon....i dont remember much of the books as i read them at a pretty early age but i thought it was pretty accurate (enough to NOT piss me off anyways!)

hope you're having a good holiday biggrin

Hurrah for the weekend! Friday was ace - hanging out with SGUK types is definitely heading to the top of my list of favourite things. Just a shame that I didn't get to chat to a lot of the people I'd not met before properly, but there's always next time! Not sure if I can do next weekend though, but we'll see... smile

Dragonmeet on Saturday...

Ho hum well it's the beginning of another week and it's also less than 3 weeks until xmas. Have bought bugger all so far for anyone, although I did put tinsel up everywhere this weekend (which the cats will no doubt demolish in due course) shocked

More importantly RotK is now less than 2 weeks away, hurrah! After having been to the exhibition at the Science...

I thought the season was pretty good. I had no expectations going into it though. I'd say it's better than 90% of TV out there.....worth checking out at least.

Whats Dragonmeet then? Sounds interesting.

Well the water got fixed, which was nice. Been playing Mage today, which was cool. Still loading albums on my Zen, which is taking forever. Getting very excited now about RotK, which is only 3 weeks away. Man I'm such a geek...

Unfortunately my water tank has decided to break and piss water all over my porch. Even more unfortunately I can't find a decent pair of pliers to shift the bloody valve to turn it off for a while. Help is on its way but I sense some inevitability in having to pay vast sums of money to get someone to replace the stopcock completely in...

Hey what's up man? So I'm reading the final fiction book in the Brujah trilogy, pretty good so far. The Baali have some involvement. Though I never got into Demon the Fallen, From what I've read so far it seems as though they're going to have a big part in the whole end of times deal (Baali, Demons, etc). Care to shed any light...hint hint.?

Hmm someone's been playing with the site again. No complaints though. I can use my five slots to pay tribute to the coolest sci-fi sgs on the site! smile

Weekend went ok, and as I expected things got a little heated between a few of ths guys. For the record Inquisitor sucks, and I'll be taking it up with GW in due course. Grr. mad

the 5 slots is pretty good, at least now I wont have to rotate favs every now and then.

I've never played Inquisitor, from what I've seen of it didnt really appeal. I'll stick to fantasy battle and 40k for now smile
maelwys:
The earlier versions of warhammer and 40k seemed more skirmish based. As updates were published they tended to be aimed at younger and younger age groups and simplified a lot of the rule. Hence nowdays you get 5 year olds in the bloody shops.

I think I might have Fantasy Warriors, probably in storage like so much of my other stuff. I would definitely be interested in having a butchers at other rules you're working on smile

Mmmm I have a new toy! It's very shiny, and it plays a *lot* of music! Kudos to Geronimo for recommending it to me... biggrin

Off to Stoke at the weekend for beer, games, and probably a punch-up with some old mates from uni days.

BTW anyone else seen the TT extended version yet? Very cool, lots of sly bits here and there that you'll miss...

I'll be getting the Two Towers next week. Unfortunately my rent and council tax have gone through this week so I'm counting the pennies. And I'll definitely be getting the Breed77 album, your description sounds good.

Have you been in the Escort Tavern in Watford? That used to be good as well, dunno what its like nowdays though.

Enjoy your trip to Stoke smile

Well the gig last night was pretty cool. Breed 77 are definitely my new favourite band. Thankfully (and finally) managed to get hold of their album whilst I was there too. Hurrah! smile

In other news, I am now the sole owner of my house. Hence the free cash to get a shiny gadget or two. Just need to get a new job and this one...

I managed to get tonsilitus out of nowhere. Again. Tsk. Hell on earth. Still recovering really. Had to miss the pirate party in the end due to lurgy, antibiotics and general tiredness. Heard it was great too. Curses. I'm beginning to wonder whether i've got some negative karma stored up somewhere somehow...

Instead I ended up watching my X-Men 1.5 DVD in full at home...
