Right.

Just spent two days of training on some new test system at work and have barely had time to go near the 'net for my usual time wasting antics. Time to play catch-up! smile

Friday was fairly quiet up until the point my friend/lodger rolled in at 11.30pm with two fingers on his left hand pointing the wrong way. He was so hammered he couldn't...

Tsk I'm well overdue for an update aren't I? wink

Saturday went ok Dragonmeet was the busiest I've ever seen it, and my demos went pretty well although I was down on the people for the tournament. Passed on the Firefly thing in the evening to chill with some mates and industry types.

Sunday roused myself at a reasonable hour to do shopping and DIY things....

Argh Monday already! Weekends really just are not long enough any more... frown

Well obviously the highlight of the last few days was our uber-super-duper-mega meet in Camden. Really was amazing to see so many lovely people from the site in one place. Inevitably though it meant there was no way I could have chatted to everyone properly. Plus a whole bunch of people I now...

No Scottish that I know of, mostly Spanish Cajun ... we're a rare breed, I think.
waldo_jeffers:
Hi there! Mondays do have a habit of coming around real fast, but its not as simple as that...Mondays are actually more subtle in their approach. Mondays take you unaware. They lull you into a false sense of security, "What are you worried about? Its Friday night - you've got plenty of time to enjoy yourself!" and then whoosh before you know it, the weekend is over and the alarm clock is going and its Monday and you are back in work and everyone is asking, "Good weekend?" and you automatically reply, "Yup!" but as you try to think what you did, you realise that you aren't too sure and that although you can remember fragments of the weekend, its hard to explain how you filled up a whole weekend with so little and that's because Mondays have the power of speeding up the passage of time on Saturdays and Sundays but cranking it down a gear until it passes real slow on Monday, so that every moment takes a lifetime and like Blake, you find eternity in an hour, oh yeah, and that's how Monday managed to creep up on you!! wink

That stuff about your credit card is really scarey!! Its good that the credit card company were understanding! eeek

(Edited because I have yet to learn that the first letter of a sentence should begin with a capital!)

Well another week gone by, another step closer to xmas (less than 5 weeks now folks!). Not much to report, and have spent much of the week playing the shiny, gripping and entirely addictive Half Life 2 (not that I'm really that obsessive - I've just discovered DOG on the third level whereas a bunch of people have completed it already!). Aside from that this...

Oh my f***ing god Half Life 2 is just so damn good words can hardly describe it. And I've hardly started it, only on like the 6th bit of the first chapter. It's goddamn beautiful. The water, oh the water. Thank the heavens I ended up with a machine powerful enough to run the damn thing. I guess all my constructive plans go right out...

Ugh another weekend gone, and again not really enough sleep was had. It was a pleasure to be invited out on Fri but decided to save my much-needed pennies instead and caught Bad Santa on the way home. I'm happy to say it was as darkly humourous as I'd hoped and I didn't stop chuckling the rest of the way home (to the bemusement of...

Well it's the end of the week thank god. Wasn't as slow as last week, but still pretty lame and I'm glad to be done with it all the same *phew* whatever

Have to say that despite the hype I'm not really that impressed with GTA:SA. Not that I don't appreciate how big the map is, how open-ended the gameplay is and how many sub-games there...

Luckily I have a roommate who is an idiot savant when it comes to video games. He's plowing right through San Andreas. That way he takes the time to unlock all the stuff, amass the fortunes and whatnot, and I can just sit back, relax and come up with new and sadistic scenarios to play out for fun. biggrin

I simply don't have the patience to complete a game that... "big." I just want to blow off steam. My feeling is, if a game is causing me stress, it's defeating the purpose.

Funny, I just finished a script set in 1888 (yeah, you can probably figure out one of the plot elements biggrin ) Victorian society is damn interesting, as the outwardly "porper" customs were but a veneer for the decay that was eating away at every facet of society.

Anyway, have a great weekend! smile

Bad Santa was awesome biggrin . I've been nominated to be the secret santa for works christmas knees up , i've found the inspiration for my performance in that film I think.

So what was up with the site yesterday? Anyone know? Could hardly log all day tsk... whatever

Anyway, here we are and it's Tuesday already. Fingers xssed this week moves a bit faster than last week. Battlestar Galactica was ace last night just keeps getting better and better IMHO. If you're not watching it you'll be kicking yourself... smile

The weekend was cool nice to see everyone...

Now let's be fair, I shouldn't have to be kicking myself quite yet. I mean, at least give me until it starts showing over here. biggrin

Hermes said onNovember 09, 2004 03:58 AM (In SexyMagdalene's journal.) Never tried Rifts is it any good? Just rediscovered Last Unicorn's Star Trek RPG and thinking of giving it a crack. So what's NWN anyways?

Rifts is a big game. Lots of books but a pretty easy game structure. I haven't read any of the books out right but I have gotten a little more into it than I was before. Mind you, the last time I played was almost 10 years ago... I see that you are into cyper/sci-fi stuff. This would probably be to your liking then. I would recommend looking into it but forewarn you; you will spend a lot of money on these books!eeek

NWN is the acronym for Neverwinter Nights... But I was having trouble getting my computer to let the game run... Oh well. whatever
