Right.

The crazy fun began on Friday when I went to see System of a Down. After much arsing about and my Essex pals running late we got there to find that 80's Matchbox B-Movie were indeed a Disaster (think worst bits of Elvis mixed with the worst bits of the Ramones). Luckly System were tons better, even if we did have to wait 45mins for them to actually make it on stage. They only played 90 mins but it was pretty relentless, and they managed to cram in most of their last three albums. It sounded amazing. They made it look so easy too, as if they'd hardly broken a sweat. (I have pics, see my folders.).

Then on to the Electric Ballroom for Sin City where I met up with a friend, plus Kirsty and her beau. Much drinking and moshing commenced, along with my friend prodding me about my (non-existent) love life, and taking the right p*** out of me as a result. Crashed at his place about 3.30am.

Saturday I shopped and snoozed before heading out again to see Tori Amos, who was also quite amazing. Having never seen her before, and having always been a fan, I came across all teary when she appeared on stage. Elemental, heartfelt, quintessentially female, there really is nothing else like it. She played a lot of the new album, quite a few from Under The Pink, plus a few covers (including Madonna's Like A Prayer, which rocked). No pictures this time unfortunately (they were being right Nazis about it, and didn't want my camera confiscated). Also no beer for the duration as the bar staff were incapable of serving faster than a snail's pace, and then when it started I didn't want to leave my seat and miss anything.

And then off to the Scala in King's Cross for the Kerrange Rampage thing. Was quite bewildered when I got there as (aside from the gaggle of wonderous girls) it was pretty empty, and Team Stupid had yet to arrive. An hour (and several beers) later things livened up nicley and the place was soon packed, with Team Stupid providing some much-needed amusement (the live bands, and the DJs in both rooms were basically all rubbish all night). In retrospect I think now there were a lot more people from the site there than I realised, and I only wish had realised so I could have met them all properly. The highlight of the evening was (of course) the SGUK show (pics posted to the group, not here in my journal). The poor girls were dead nervous, but I think seeing some familiar faces down at the front really helped. I made it until just after 4.00am and then the tiredness and the nausea kicked in to the extent that I had to get out, and my autpilot engaged (sorry for not saying bye to everyone properly). Following two bus rides and a dodgy minicab ride, I made it to bed about 5.15am.

After all that activity on Sunday after I woke (at about 12.00pm) I felt completely broken. Shambled around like a zombie and then headed to the shops for a bit. When I got back my lame-o housemate (largely absent for the last 6 weeks) was clearing out his stuff (finally). Hurrah and good riddance. I still suspect he's going to stiff me on his last rent installment (due this week, in arrears, yes I'm a mug), but we'll see. Rounded off the day with some seriously big food, several pints of fruit juice and Blade Trinity (the Extended version).

Well my hardcore weekend to commemorate my birthday was indeed hardcore, fun, exhilirating, knackering. I'm now here at work fumbling about trying to stay awake, and it'll probably take me all week to recover properly. Arghghg.

blackeyed ARRR!!! biggrin tongue wink

If you could wait long enough for me to sort it all out I'd seriously consider your kind offer. But I don't think you can... can you?
