Well this week I've been grappling with my electric guitar and have been learning fast. Apparently the Washburn Mercury Series has a shorter neck and doesn't like detuning much. And it doesn't like really heavy gauge strings either. I also didn't realise what a total c*** the Flloyd Rose tremolo system is when you change your gauge. However, after discovering Ernie Ball do a custom mixed gauge string set and then applying a lot of patience everything is hunky dory. And it sounds the dogs bollocks. And strangely although people recommended I get a compressor to flatten the tone a little, IMHO it sounds much better without it.
And in the process of guitar practice I've rediscovered the Deftones. I always thought they were great and have their 4 albums on the shelf, but I'm now listening properly again I'm building a greater appreciation of their sublime heaviness. It's definitely the kind of sound I like and will likely build on for my own approach to songwriting. The flip side it's almost disappointing how easy a lot of their stuff is to play! Cut to me posing in front of a full length mirror shredding and yelling my little heart out.
In other news I'm getting rather sick of my housemate's attitude and if he doesn't shape up I may finally bite the bullet and boot him. Got South Park DVDs seasons 2 to 4 from Amazon as they were going super-cheap so that's doing a lot to cheer my spirits. Still waiting for my dollars to cash in so I can pay off my credit card and get a new camera. Will likely be dressing up as a cowboy again tonight for some club my mate is dragging me to. And aside from the usual domestic chores, I will hopefully try and catch Constantine tomorrow at the cinema. Oh, and fingers xssed I remember to get my stuff dry-cleaned before my mate's wedding next weekend.

Im thinking about seeing Constantine myself , looks enjoyably stupid and I suppose I should give Keanu a 2nd chance after the debacle of those Matrix sequels.
