A new week is upon us and so I guess it's time for another update. The weekend was a fairly quiet one really. Caught up on some taped TV Friday, did chores Saturday and then got measured up for wedding gear with my pal Saturday before swinging by the UGC to catch The Bourne Supremacy and then heading home for beer, food and messing about with Star Wars figs. Sunday mainly slept, then typed, then slept, then got caught on replacement buses on a trip back to Essex, grr.
Strange irony about Saturday was that my pal was whinging about never getting any time to himself etc. whereas in contrast I was kinda whinging in reverse. I.e. although I can handle my own company just fine it is getting to the point now where I am spending far too much time doing things on my own because there's really no-one around to hang with. I'm also having bitter and twisted single moments more often these days, probably because the wedding is approaching. Not that I begrudge him and his missus their companionship or their happiness. I just miss that kind of thing now I've not experienced it for so long. *sigh*
Bourne Supremacy was good, another gritty and realistic un-Hollywood actioner like the first. Some of the camerawork was little *too* shaky for my tastes though. And TBH it would have been good to see Matt Damon kick arse a bit more. Still, a million times better than lame old shite like Ecks vs Sever or summat...
And not that I'm a big TV person but it looks like I'm gonna be spoilt for choice now. Carnivale really is great - only 2 eps in and it's already got me hooked. Set in 1930s depression-era America it follows a guy with a mysterious past as he joins a travelling circus, and a whole bunch of colorful characters. Also cuts to a reverend in the deep south who seems like a very messed up character indeed. Very dark, with lots of flashbacks and strange portents, playing it out on the slow-burn. I'd highly recommend it. Plus there's Most Haunted 4 starting this week, and the new series of the Dead Zone on Sci-Fi. Goddamn I'm gonna be away most of October maybe I better invest in Sky+ for a while...
Oh yeah, hopefully see you Saturday?

carnivale does look good, but its not on cheap telly, so i'm gonna have to find a way of watching it. there was an article in bizarre ages ago about it - sounds good plus it'll have midgets in it so i think they're onto a winner!
have fun, i'm off to find things to sell to fund my new ebay habbit!
