my union is pretty cool. they're one of a growing number that realized they were up shit's creek in the 80s and started to change the way they operated and started trying to expand again.
i've had similar experiences to what you're talking about with the membership. inside the union you have weird internal politics between union guys and company guys. that basically relates to who people tend to side with in simple disputes.
given time, i think i'll eventually do a set for the suicide boys group. the friend of mine who helped anarcha hook up with the stripping gig a month ago is now really interested in becoming a suicide girl. so me and that girl were talking about doing each others photography for a few practice sets. so it might just be up there one of these days.

I read your journal entry about being "punk" in Joey's journal. If you have to follow a certain set of guidelines to be punk, guess what, then you are not punk. Punk is about saying "Fuck You!" to everyone and doing and thinking what you want. The goal is to piss everyone off. The roots of punk have splintered in so many ways I just believe that it is more of an attitude than a political position. But I guess we will just have to disagree. I don't consider myself punk. I am a bisexual republican atheist studying to be a physicist so I don't really fit into any group and don't want to. I don't agree with many of the things the republican administration is doing but they are closer to my way of thinking than any other political group that I know of.
I think there is a ground swell for less new SG's now. Hopefully the powers that be pick up on that. They are smart people so I am sure they will.
