Had a great scuba trip a couple weeks ago. I went with my die shop on a private chartered boat to catalina. The trip out there was pretty hard. 3 hours of bobbing ocean can wreak havoc on your guts but I made it without chumming the waters! Once we got there it was great. I got in 4 dives chased some bat rays saw some very large star fish and lobsters. The topper was definitly the last dive of the day I found a star crab and a leapord shart within 10 feel of each other. Nothing like picking up and holding a shark for the first time. The star crab was an interesting one too. Found her after the shark and decided to show the boat as it had been my ambition all day to find one. So a grabbed her up and surfaced about 20feet from the boat I waved her in the air got a cheer from the boat and was about to let her go when a problem occured. She managed to wrap her legs ground my arm and was making a dedicated effort to get those claws around my hand as well. So I'm racing back to the boat while trying to pry this crab off my arm. 5 feet from the boat for no apparent reason she gives up and lets go. I figured I was this close to the boat now I might as well bring her in and get a picture. Lots of fun those bat rays were amazing too. Found one about 30 feet down and she was hugh! Must have been 8feet accrost. Scared the hell outta me she was barried in the sand I passed over her and I guess I flicked her with my fin and she took off like bat out of hell right under me. After that shock I chased her around for about 5 or 10 minutes (hopefully the pictures turn out well) The other two I found down at 60 feet. Never got close enought to get a picture of them but it was a fun chase. Great day!
